It really was a great Alien movie! And that is so interesting that the Director was inspired by the video game :)

2025-08-16 04:56:32 +0000 UTCNow THAT is an Alien movie! The events of the film take place in the year 2142, exactly 20 years after Alien (2122), and 37 years before Aliens (2179). Funny you should mention the shooting near the end being like a video game because the film's production design draws not only on the previous films in the series, but also the video game "Alien: Isolation." I've seen people play it and the "Emergency" communication stations they used serve as save points in the game. Fede Alvarez (Director) played the game around the time Don't Breathe was released and later said, "I was playing, and realizing how terrifying Alien could be if you take it back to that tone."
