Mark Johnson, who scored two goals against the Soviets, is the current head coach for the women's hockey team at his (and my) alma mater, the University of Wisconsin. He's created a dynasty there and has won seven national championships.

In the part where the Soviet Union’s coach didn’t pull their goalie late in the third, Herb Brooks said to the Assistant coach “ He doesn’t know what to do”. He’s never been in a situation where his team was down late in a game.
