Tbh I don’t think I’ve noticed much of a southern accent on any of the characters, let alone one strong enough that it’d be difficult to understand. Lol So yeah, hearing someone commented something like that (concerned if you can properly understand the character without CC) is a bit confusing to hear.

Because the show was operating on a low budget they could not use any real place or school names or they would have to provide compensation. Therefore, all of the universities that they mention are based off of real universities like SMU and Texas Tech, and Oklahoma, but they couldn’t actually use their real names without having to pay significant royalties as they would play a major part in the show. Some schools like Vanderbilt and UT and UCLA were passively mentioned, but those did not require the payment of major royalties as they were not a big part of the plot.
