No, dental care is one of the most expensive pieces of healthcare. I think people just think that because a lot of Americans do pay the money for better looking teeth. Unlike the NHS, Americans have pay deductions from their wages that goes into health insurance plans, which are monetarily matched by employers. General health care plans are minimum, but one can opt for dental, vision, cancer-treatment, and other additions to their general plan. Senior citizens qualify for government funded Medicare and the poor and disabled qualify for Medicaid - also government funded. There is also the 'Affordable Care Act' (known also as Obamacare). It provide government supported health insurance to those not poor enough to qualify for Medicaid, but not with the kind of job that has adequate employer health care.
