2024-06-17 03:44:15 +0000 UTCFor the Two examples brought up of Terrell Davis and Gale Sayers, context is nessesary. Davis' run was even shorter than Priest's, but in that time he had a 2000 yard season, an MVP, 2 Super Bowl wins and a Super Bowl MVP. Sayers still is tied for the record for touchdowns in a game, and at one point held the same record that Priest did of Touchdowns in a season. Was also an All Pro 5 times. Priest is borderline HOF and as someone who rooted against him, very deserving, but with the limited slots each year, I don't see it any time soon.

Wouldn't miss a single minute of the games, even in their worst seasons and worst games (and we were there with her; Sundays were a family holiday during the season). No joke, after she died we were going through her purse/wallet and found she had a photo of me, my brother, my wife...and Priest Holmes. It was a headshot, too, not in uniform. She loved a lot of players over the years, but he was the top for her and that photo alongside us still makes me laugh.
