Youโre absolutely right about Vince being hated. As a raptors fan, it was the most intense hatred Iโve ever seen for a sports figure. The issue was that he was always hurt. He also did an interview after he left in which he said that he wasnโt trying his hardest as a raptor. His trade value dropped quite a bit. In return, the raptors got absolutely nothing. It set the franchise back 10 years. The reason people began to forgive him, was simply the team had finally started to turn things around. Winning cures everything. The fans were excited about the direction the team was going in, and there was no reason to hold a grudge.

2024-06-20 18:11:26 +0000 UTCGreat reaction. That supefan who hasn't missed a game, Nav Bhatia, is one of the most beloved and famous fans in North American sport. I've never seen a single player on any team who's even walked near him at a game not embrace him like a friend. That's Raptor or opponent. Also, not to be a downer because I know that's not the point of the video, but this is the positive side of Vince's time in Toronto. His relationship soured there so much that for many many years until very recently he was absolutely hated. You brought up the faking injury thing, there were many other things (like that stupid going to his graduation the day of a playoff game here in the doc), etc. I'm not a Raptors fan so I have no dog in this race, but he was looked at as weak, not caring about winning, etc. He's matured a lot and seems like a great guy now, but yeah...Also T-Mac in his prime is absolutely the better player, no one would debate that, but he was hobbled by injuries over his career whereas Vince played forever and really matured and fit in many teams with many roles.

Arena to arena about 16 miles. Oakland City limits to San Francisco City limits about 12 miles. Same fan base (The Bay Area). Understandable move but sad for Oakland. 2024-06-19 15:43:08 +0000 UTCThe Warriors really wanted Antwan Jamison in the 1998 draft but they were worried Milwaukee would trade up with Toronto and steal Jamison away. So the Warriors and Raptors worked out their own trade instead. It helped assure the Warriors got the player they really wanted and from the Raptors point of view they saved some money in the process and got the guy they wanted also.
