Halloween is cool for the kids but then you grow up and see it's just the sugar industry that's destroying our country profiting massively and commercializing it as something to celebrate so nobody realizes. The confectionary industry makes 3-4 billion dollars on Halloween, around 8% of their yearly business. That's the only reason Halloween has been propped up so much in our culture. There's too much financial incentive. It would've never been painted as such a big deal if sugar wasn't so addictive and profitable.

2024-06-25 13:11:28 +0000 UTCalso growing up teachers would give you extra credit if you came dressed up on halloween or brought them their favorite candy the day after. i had a teacher who'd give everyone a 100 on a quiz grade if we brought her the mini hershey candy bars

2024-06-24 23:30:10 +0000 UTChalloween is so fun here! stores start in july but most of the stuff is out august/september. people will start their decorating in september. i knew a family that did an annual hautned house in their basement each year for the neighborhood kids. people get crazy about it and will spend in the thousands for decorations and costumes!! it's kinda crazy lol

2024-06-24 21:55:49 +0000 UTCI think you saw a bit of a glimpse at how Americans like Halloween in that many of the people chose to dress up just going to work and got into the spirit. They were also planning an office Halloween party but I'm not sure it ended up happening haha. Americans do typically enjoy Halloween very much. I know it's my nieces second favorite holiday after Christmas.
