The Office S2 E7 - The Client (Cut Reaction)

The writers have said this episode was to help establish how Michael keeps his job. It's because despite his personality he is a really good salesman.

2024-07-19 19:40:02 +0000 UTCI'm pretty sure he planned the wining and dining and chatting with the guy and getting to know him rather than jumping into the sales pitch. He's actually really good at sales and I think he knew jan was going to be too corporate stuffy for that small town county which is why he changed the location and brought up a safe word thing in the car. But him being Michael she assumed the safe word was for himself and blew it off, which is why he was doing nonsense stuff to get her to stop on the pitch. I think this was the first episode where they showed why exactly he's in charge of his branch.
