I thought because komugi was number 1 for so long and beating the king that she was already at her peak and the king was too far behind. But no, mereum is no joke as well, he mastered every boardgame in 1 day. This shows you, komugi still had way more in the tank before peaking. This girl is a beast .And meruem pushed her to that point. If you take her out, the king would be reigning champ for a decade

2024-05-02 15:12:38 +0000 UTCkomugi's resolve of putting her life on the line for a board game all her life is a crazy way to have a natural nen awakening. the concepts of resolve and conditions were introduced so early but i feel like the author is really reinforcing it's importance and impact over time which is so cool and doesnt get old :')

2024-05-02 14:59:45 +0000 UTCnone of the royal guards have any self preservation when it comes to the king, yall mentioned "you would have died if you killed komugi" about pouf but that thought is inconsequential to the "damage" killing komugi would do the king's pride, so it would never cross his mind as a consequence lol... the sense of loyalty ingrained in the royal guard and how they individually express it is so unique, as shown in how they answer his question about his name. i love this arc so much
