Dont know if its interesting but since all names in Frieren are just German words here some Translations. Since some names could have spoiled it a little, I waited to posted this previously (Draht (his wire magic) and Lügner being the biggest possible spoiler of the series until now if you just know the translation) Main Cast: Frieren = freeze , or in this context most likely "being cold" Fern = Distant, far away (most commonly used in a romantic/nostalgic way) Stark = Strong (Gymbro kinda strong) Eisen = Iron Himmel = Heaven/Sky Äußerst (current target destination) = Extremely, exceedingly, far end, most Flamme = Flame Heiter = Bright (in the sense of happiness, or in this specific case, someone who just opened his 3rd beer and is a little tipsy already :D ) Aura Guillotine Arc: Aura = Aura Lügner = Liar Linie = Line Draht = Wire (other character later on) Kraft (The buffed elf dude) = Another word for strength, but could maybe best translated with "power" Upcoming Characters (should not spoil anything or if it does its minuscule to the extremest: Lawine = Avalanche Kanne = Can Denken = Thinking Land = Country Wirbel = Vortex Laufen= Running Richter = Judge Scharf = Sharp Ehre = Honor Übel = many translations possible: Bad, evil, ill Genau = precise If you like this , i can create a list of translations for locations/names/spells ect for every upcoming episode (I'll keep spoilery stuff out especially the names for demons) Its strange hearing japanese and then these "normal" words being used here and there all the time(and some pronounced so wrong I would never recognize them :D) luckily except Lügner nothing was spoiled to much for me.

2024-05-19 06:24:38 +0000 UTCOld Man Voll always gets to me. My grandpa was the same way. He'd always joke about being old and senile, but he was still really sharp and had a great memory. It was always obvious that he was joking. Then at some point his jokes started being a little less obvious, then seeming a little less intentional, then before long he was struggling to remember his own name. He was basically living in limbo within his own broken memories for the last year and a half of his life. Those moments of lucidity though, like Voll getting to dream of his wife and remember her for a bit from talking with Frieren, those moments are really special.

2024-05-19 03:22:56 +0000 UTCOne thing that always gets me in this episode is how Frieren reacts when Old Man Voll tells her that he's unable to remember his wife. I'd almost say it's a mixture of fear and disbelief, with a touch of "I hope this is a joke." It's as if what he said to her put the terrifying thought in her head: "What if I eventually forget the people who were important to me like Himmel or Fern?" Maybe it's just me and I'm looking too deep into it but it also sounds like her voice is almost trembling.

So people now can appreciate his statue, but truly have no idea who he is. 2) A long running idea in the community is that Himmel really pushed for statues of the Hero Party so that Frieren wasn’t alone AND she could remember their faces like Old Man Voll wish he could Anyway love this series and appreciate y’all’s videos!

2024-05-19 01:55:41 +0000 UTCmy headcannon for Elven lifespan is so long it might aswell be infinite, if Kraft is an ancient forgotten hero who's deeds are also forgotten, he prob had some heroic journey thousands of years before the story and may of even killed a previous demon king. and he doesnt look "old" he still looked like a 20-35ish dude, where as Frieren looks like a teen in comparsion and she is over 1000yrs old.
