Subaru's parents felt like the the parents I wish I had and the lines especially "we didn't have you because we wanted something from you" and "we had you because we wanted to do something for you" were lines that really spoke to me and something I wish I heard from them honestly. I want to be as good as parents as those two and do it for the right reasons like they said to subaru on having him.

Coming to this fantasy world, you saw how odd he quickly accepted it. Its because he had a life he regretted and left behind. A life and identity he wanted to run away from. He saw this as a new start to be his own person. But running away to a new environment doesn't fix the problem. His self expectations of being someone great, the "class clown act" that he gets from his father, it all stems from a lack of self worth and wanting to be someone special. A boy who trys so hard to look cool because he doesn't think he's good enough. Its not so easy to change and become a better person. Subaru has suffered so much and been forced to confront so many ugly realities about the world and himself. Which has led to some excellent self introspection and personal growth. This is what makes Subaru a fantastic protagonist.

2024-05-31 09:12:30 +0000 UTCYeeah that's something no one really realizes about Subaru. Subaru, for our world standards, is actually decently strong. He's well built and does seem to work out. We only know him as weak because he's in a fantasy world filled with OP characters under an unfair power system. It doesn't help that his personality and deeply flawed insecurities makes him seem more pathetic. He literally has everything stacked against him in this massive extremely dangerous foreign world.

The relationships he can never mend again and the regret he feels about but wont keep him from moving forward. Great show! I dont know if its just me but the audio was a bit quiet again, i always have to watch these episodes on max speaker volume.

A police investigation was launched but ended up empty-handed. But they never stopped searching for him and that his father keep trying to cheer his wife but she's completely heartbroken. They are currently living in uncertainty as to whether Subaru committed suicide or ran away. -In the light novels there are points of season 1 when Subaru starts to think of his parents and inmediately stops himself. -Subaru always had a thing for white hair girls as you can see in the figures and posters in his room. -Tappei said that, if Subaru's dad got transported to Re zero world instead of Subaru, he would do so much better than Subaru -According to author, If Subaru didn't got transported in the Re zero world, his dad would help him to overcome his anxiety and he would have graduated from school, found a decent job, and married a cute girl like Rem.
