I'm quite late to this and I'm not sure if you guys would even see this, but I fully enjoyed your reaction to Lord of the Rings. It truly is my favourite movie series. And watching you guys go on this journey renewed my love for it. I was wondering though, do you guys ever plan on doing The Hobbit trilogy? I was looking for if you've mentioned it or not but I can't find it. If you haven't, I do think you'd enjoy it just as much.

3:08:30 No, Gimli is sitting on the Stewards throne which is to the left of the King's throne at the base. The King's Throne is white. The couple Faramir and Eowyn spent months recuperating from their wounds as told in the books and developed feelings over the time spent healing.

Prob pushing hundreds of times seeing this movie but the VfX still amazes me for how good it is for 1999-2001 ish. Bright sunny day and the Nazgûl flying around the city looks better then most Movies and Tv Shows today. Even Game of Thrones has some iffy dragon shots flying during the day. But this looks fantastic.

Maybe a little interesting fact, as you mentioned how long it has been since it came out. The books were released 1954-55. Tolkien more or less wrote the whole world together. Working on it basically from around 1917 until his death and not even finishing all of his ideas. For me the most insane thing is that he started the story by creating languages. He invented the whole elvish language for that (words, grammar and all that shizz) and went with the world and stories from there And as you can imagine, the 3 books of that trilogy are even more vast than the movies, even in extended form, could convey. a good example of that is the development of faramir and eowyns relationship.

Drakojin

Frodo at the end left for the undying lands. Where all the elves went to, a continent where the angels of creation resides as well. No mortals is allowed there, they made an exception for ring bearers, to have peace until their end. Frodo had the ring for 20 years before he left the shire and the ring got stronger as he got closer. Frodo was completely spent by the end of it. The ring finally broke him. Piece of him stayed in mordor ( literally and metaphorically)

"The journey does't end here, death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it, white shores... and beyond...A far green country, under a swift sunrise." If you need help understanding how impactful this quote is, my mum wants it read at her funeral, and i've had it memorised (kind of) since I was 16.

This movie happened to receive 11 Academy Awards, basically in nearly all possible categories. No movie in history had ever received more. So there's that. As for the Battle of the Black Gates; the place they chose to film this was in New Zealand, its so-called desert. It is a place where NZ Miliary has a training field, and there are numerous bombs around, activated if one steps on them. While some of them were removed, when Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) asked if that means that there are no bombs within the designated area, he was told ''No. But certainly not as many as in parts out of it." Viggo laughed, of course. And as for his speech? It truly had to be bloody inspiring, since everyone was charging across a mine field. They were even told that when they do charge, they should mind the grounds and try not to step on any bombs, grenades, shells... This is obviously impossible to do, however, one may argue that those behind charging across a minefield would need a heel of a speech first. They got one.

“You bow to no one” always destroys me :’-)

Love Aragorn's reaction to getting the remade sword of Elendil. It's my favorite scene that doesn't include Sam (the GOAT). Elrond: I give hope to men. Aragorn: I keep none for myself. You both mentioned hope a lot, especially Cara. This trilogy and particularly this last movie was all about giving hope to others. Nice to see you both so into it. Great reaction, it was really fun watching the trilogy with you.

Sir_Dalagad

I was so waiting for this! Thanks, guys! I’m gonna watch it as soon as I can…

Yellow_hat_gnome

With the Elden Ring dlc coming out I'm not going to have an extra 4 hours to watch this any time soon. I'm excited to come back to it later though! Basically everyone I know has been a fan of these movies for 20 years, so seeing someone watch them for the first time has been a lot of fun.

Committing to the entire LOTR trilogy on a whim is crazy but I’m glad you guys liked em!

Bravo Charlie

Second hand info here, The stewart Was not a mess in the book. He had the same lineage and age as aragorn. Old collegues The reason he looks that old was because he was using the stone for decades trying to get any info from sauron, eventhough he knew they were edited footage. 30 years!! Saruman became his slave. Sauron fcked up though, since he couldnt win with will, he started showing every footage where human lost or djed. Which gave away where they woukd attack, and denethor used that to prepare his defence. When he saw the tree, he lit the beacon to rohan. He was an extremely busy ruler, organising he foces and managing gondor. Since saruman also had a stonel, denethor extracted info from him as well Even when boromir died, he didnt lose it. Only When faramir came back dying that he got extremely weak. He still tried to keep busy and went to use the palantir. Thats when he finally broke. Sauron finally destroyed his hope From what i have read about him Denethor was a mf of a human and a ruler. He was the one who primed minas tirith the best it could be to defend against the army.

Kurri

Yes, it's their channel. They can do whatever they like. And in the comments section I can say what I think about it, which can include legitimate criticism, so long as I am not rude. This section is not just for sycophantic praise. I can't be bothered with dealing with this childish attitude anymore, so I'm going to delete my comment. While I'm at it, I'll delete my membership too.

Toasted Toad

Tis time for me to check the whole trilogy out in one sitting with yall, see you 12 hours later...

soulieproud

Bro even if he made her read the script beforehand it's their channel and not your choice. What an entitled take, and even after he respectfully said you were wrong you doubled down. Sad

Brandon Himes

I've seen many stupid an ignorant patreon comments before, this one takes the cake

Yeetus

Respectfully disagree, having not seen this movie in about 14 years there’s no way I remembered any of those things, I reacted and that’s it. Sometimes (many times) I make predicted reactions that are absolutely wrong and sometimes they’re right

Cara&Prez

We had food in between to make up for the popcorn ban🫡

Cara&Prez

The line hit hard can’t lie 😭

Cara&Prez

Just to be clear, I only say things I don’t know are true (when I assume or predict etc) so I’m stating my thoughts process rather than spoiling, obviously I don’t want to ruin the experiance

Toasted Toad

"Never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an Elf." "What about side by side with a friend?" "Aye... I could do that." FUCKING GOATED SCENE

SirSkyRage

Let the Lady snack on her neverending popcorn! I had to stop watching to go out and buy popcorn at like 2am because of it haha.
