one thing i believe may have been taken the wrong way -- when serie says "you were lucky" to frieren, implying that frieren just so happened to have a very strong party, i believe frieren responds with "you're right i WAS lucky," but using the word "lucky" to imply that she was fortunate to have been able to meet and spend 10 years of her life with a great company of friends. so serie meant it as a slight, whereas frieren turned the same word around to show how truly fortunate she was.

2024-10-09 04:51:45 +0000 UTCFrieren said that you only show 1/10 of your real mana when you are supressing it. So if the supressing mana from Serie is equal to the full of Frieren's mana it means that Serie has like x10 of mana more than Frieren. Which is actually crazy

The phrase literally means, “it’s saddening” and it is commonly used to express sorrow and empathy. BUT the show has already displayed that Serie speaks rather bluntly/direct. So there is a really good chance that Serie was just recognizing the sadness in the situation but not necessarily sad herself. Damn this show has layers

And I think there is roughly the same amount of volumes left to adapt that has been adapted for this season. I think (and kinda hope) it will take years anyways, because this season had so much care put into it, that to keep up with this level production would need to take its time I assume.

I mean there is even more context, that we can't discuss right now, but I don't see how Serie was empathetic there. I can read as a back-handed compliment at best.

2024-06-28 14:40:04 +0000 UTCSerie said something very interesting aswell that might of been missed, she said Frieren is rather unskilled for her age,Serie is prob so old that she sees Frieren as a child, just like Frieren has been looking at others as children compared to how old she is. I am willing to bet Serie is as old as Kraft, who is so old that nobody remembers who he is or what he did to get a statue of himself in that village.

2024-06-28 14:25:41 +0000 UTCPrez actually nailed it! When Serie says, “it’s truly disappointing” towards Lernen’s, it’s a lil bit of a translation thing. Serie uses, “Hontoni Zanenda” which means more like, “It’s saddening” like she feels sorry for him, rather than pointing out a negative (disappointment) towards Lernen.
