The guy who burned the wood that turned the fire different colors said he found a woman's dress with the bottom sleeves burned together with the wood. Maomao said that the fire could've been used as a code. Jinshi is looking for someone with burn wounds in the arms so he can find whoever prepared the wood to burn in the fire as a signal.

2024-07-23 19:16:46 +0000 UTCThese episodes are the first where Jinji is showing signs of being bearable, but I hated the idea of Jinji and Maumau for almost the whole season. He's arrogant and constantly calls her a pawn or a toy and is physically harassing her all the time, he comes off very entitled. I loved hearing Cara in the early episodes complain about him because it was super relatable and very accurate. I hope Cara stays genuine and honest in her reactions and feelings of these shows because it's part of what makes you guys one of (if not the) best reaction channel. But yeah thankfully Jinji does grow as a character a bit

Her first dish was supposed to have the jellyfish instead of the mackerel because she is allergic to it. Her ladies in waiting just think she is being pucky about her food, and have no respect for her. It did save that tasters life though. Maomao had a tolerance. If the taster didn't switch it she would have died. Whoever wanted to poison Lady Lishu really didn't think things through. All of the top 4 concubines have food tasters.

Also if your daughter is an Emperror's concubine your status got higher, you get more buisness value. But it's all implicated that previous Emperror was a sick bastard, like the situation with Emperror Dowager who gave birth very young so maybe he wanted to raise her for himself smh.
