ReZero S2 Episode 19-20

Ep 19 was some craaaazy stuff

Comments

Something that might give you some more pointers with your Puck theories... remember when in Frozen Bonds OVA, there were short snippets of someone having conversation with him (just text on black background)? That he is supposed to protect someone, but can't directly intervene in her life, as a compromise between what he wants and what is necessary? I don't think your version had voice acting back then, but it was later released with one, might be interesting to find it and hear whose voice is saying it :)

satella is half-elf and emilia is half-elf, so if satella was her mother then she would be quarter elf. but we know she's 50 elf and 50 human because the barrier only reacts to 50 something and 50 human, so it wouldn't react if she was a quarter elf! but we know for a fact that she's 50 elf and 50 human because the barrier reacted to her. meaning that her mom is fully human and the dad is fully elf! also satella being half elf is mentioned in like ep 2 or 3 of season 1 i think!

Yea i get you, there is strong evidence the other person could be her mother, i guess we will just have to wait and see what the author cooks up

Well when it comes to the 400 year thing I have some doubts on it when it comes to Emilia because I believe in another theory of who is Emilia's mother that can also be debunked through the 400 years thing but there is so many things pointing to her being the mother in the Light Novel that makes me question the 400 years timeline with the witches and the 100 years timeline with Emilia. So that is why I never mentioned the 400 years as a reason why Satella couldn't be her mother. I won't say who I think the mother is because it could be a spoiler and also there will be a hint in a later episode of who it might be.

Also one thing with geuse is wasn't just the trauma that led to him breaking it was him fusing with the sloth factor despite knowing his body wasn't compatible to it which would make him mentally unstable as well

Shaz

it all easily debunkable if you just look at the timelines, satella was sealed 400 years ago and puck is also atleast 400 years old. the elinor forest stuff happened around 100 years ago. so it just doesnt match up, granted there could be some timetravel stuff going on we dont know about but i think thats unlikely.

Remember Satella is also half elf and that is why people thought Emilia is Satella. So regardless if her father was Puck I don't believe a half elf can give birth to another half elf. Also in episode 17 Mother Fortuna mentioned that she has her fathers hair color and that she has her moms kind features which makes it sound like her mom doesn't have the same hair color as her husband or daughter which would debunk Satella being her mom aside from the fact that Satella is also half elf.

there's 5 episodes left so if it fits in the schedule maybe yall can do a triple drop for the last 3?

Fun facts: - Hector’s name was mistranslated its supposed to be warlock not devil since a warlock is a male witch. -Originally, there are 8 deadly sins: pride, lust, greed, sloth, gluttony, wrath, melancholy and vanity/vainglory. Then a pope combined melancholy and sloth, as well as pride and vanity, because these are similar. And he also added envy. -In the novel, when Emilia is talking to Echidna at the start of the trial and points to the sky, Subaru did his pose in front of Roswaal at the same time

Roswaal seems like a twisted version of who Subaru could become if he didn't get that Witch's Tea Party in Episode 13. If he didn't learn to value himself and recognize he is hurting the people he loves with his lack of self worth, I do think he would've continued abusing Return by Death with the "ends justify the means" mindset. It doesn't matter how many times I die, as long as I reach the happy ending for the people I love, anything that happens to me doesn't matter. Its the same way Roswaal operates now. We don't understand his end goal with Echidna is, and what it has to do with the dragon and supporting Emilia in the Royal Selection.. but you can guarantee that as long as his desired future is achieved, he doesn't care about the means. Its pretty much exactly why he pushed Subaru to be like him. To fight for Emilia's sake and disregard anything else for that goal. Cos that's exactly the mentality Roswaal believes in. Everyone is fundamentally weak. Your desires won't ever be fulfiled, unless you throw everything away FOR that one wish. He's pushing Subaru to throw away his life, his humanity and love for his friends.. for Emilia. The Roswaal 400 years ago is very Subaru-like. Especially with the kind of relationship he had with Beatrice which is an annoying teasing older brother. Its no wonder Beatrice stubbornly developed affection for Subaru. Subaru reminds Roswaal of his past self and its why he hates his lack of "resolve" and weakness. In the same way Roswaal was too weak to do anything to save Echidna, he seems to project his own lack of faith in Subaru and Emilia lifting each other to be stronger people. He doesn't want to believe it. Cos if they win this bet.. then all of his ideology will just fall apart, forcing Roswaal to question "what have you been doing these last 400 years."

Yeeah, can't blame Emilia for not being able to overcome the trial all this time after seeing the extent of her childhood trauma. The self blame, her memory loss forcing her to cope with the trial by claiming that is not her. Imagine realizing your emotional outburst was the whole reason your village ended up frozen.. yeeah I wouldn't be able to deal with that. Now seeing Subaru, Garfiel and Emilia's trial.. the common thing they all came out learning was that they were indeed loved. Notice that a common thread of each of their trauma are their relationship with parental figures. Subaru convinced himself he was not good enough as his father's son and wanted to validate his self hatred by getting his parents to hate him and give up on him. Which never came true as they did in fact love their son and wanted to support him. Garfiel suffered the loss of parents at a young age and to cope with the loss he couldn't understand.. convinced himself his mother didn't love them and was selfish in the attempt to hate her. The trial showed the truth and he was able to learn that his mother loved them. Love is an overarcing theme of Re:Zero. Most especially this season.
