12:23 also you'll probably gonna hate hearing this but... that's the arc that isn't animated and you can just read it on the manga, so yeah if you end up loving this anime and wanna get the last drops of that juice read the manga

And about the little girl on Hori's house, her name is Yuuna. The explanation about her was kinda left out of the anime, but in the manga they show that she's from the same school as Sota and they are close friends, so she's always hanging out there. She was there in the christmas episode from season 1 too. They didn't adapt it to anime, but there's a special chapter in the manga called "10 years later", showing Yuuna and Sota entering highschool together, looking a lot like Hori and Miyamura.

Prez nailed it on the meaning of making the dessert yourself. Valentine's day culture in Japan is HUGE, and as they showed in the episode, there are a lot of "kinds" of chocolate. Obligatory chocolate, kinda like "I know you so I'm giving you just because of that, and I'm giving it to everyone", like Yuki did. Friendship chocolate, to show some affection to your friends, like Miyamura did. Love chocolate, usually given to someone you love, and even used as a form of confession to the person if you are not already dating, using hints as heart-shaped chocolates or boxes. And as Prez said, if it's made by yourself, it kinda symbolizes how much you care about the person, and how strong are your feelings towards them. Usually only the girls give chocolate to others on valentine's day, but some boys also like doing it, like Miyamura. But they have the "White Day", on March 14th, that's when you give back something to the person who gave you chocolate on Valentine's Day. And they even have some standards on what to give on White Day, as a kind of response to the Valentine's Day gift you received, sometimes used to answer to a confession too.
