I really liked how at the end you mentioned how AD was similar to Frieren in that it controlled the pacing, tension, and build-up in a way that really appreciated certain moments. There's a reason why AD and Frieren became two of the most popular shows during their airtime. Watching them side-by-side every week was exhilarating and stressful (cliffhangers, am I right?) but SO worth every second. These two series are only going to get better and better going forward and I can't wait for all of us to get to experience them!

2024-08-13 15:55:01 +0000 UTCYes, season one was split into 2 cours but it was lovely because the production company was able to do it as one continuous release. We only had to wait 1 week because episode 12 aired on Christmas Eve and its usual timeslot was co-opted by New Year's Eve specials so episode 13 aired the first week of the new year.

2024-08-13 14:08:51 +0000 UTCMaomao often uses the "I'm just a servant" to avoid decisions or situations she would rather avoid. For such a curious girl she sure does like to stick her head in the sand. In the first episode Gyokuyou says ignorance is a sin, but Maomao seems to think it is bliss.

2024-08-13 13:44:06 +0000 UTCJust to clear something, Maomao’s family is not related or connected to Fengming. It was the kidnappers or the family that she was sold to that was connected to Fengming. Those were the ones that are listed as Maomao’s family in the palace records.
