I Want To Eat Your Pancreas Movie
Added 2024-08-18 19:52:31 +0000 UTC(Loooong Overdue) This whole movie was definitely not what we expected going into it, and maybe it took us too long to get a good understanding of the message it wanted to send, but those final 10-15 minutes everything seemed to make more sense and those emotions kicked in💔

The main reason she hang out with him so much is because he knew about her disease. If you remember, she didn't actually tell him, he found out before that by picking up her diary. THEN she diceded to tell him the full story and enjoyed having someone to talk about it.

2024-08-20 19:32:32 +0000 UTCThe dreamy scene at the end is a reference to "The little Prince", it looks a lot like the illustrations of the book (which were drawn by the author himself even if it was a novel), and the emphasis of the flower is referencing how in the book the little prince loves and takes care of a single rose in a little planet even though she is not objectively that different from the other flowers in the galaxy but he realizes that she is special to him.

2024-08-19 07:36:39 +0000 UTCfinally😭 I love how their names weaved into their story so beautifully – Sakura bloomed on a barren Spring tree (Haruki) and made him beautiful, and then departed, just like cherry blossoms... When Sakura said "I want to eat your pancreas" in the starting scene in the library, she meant that she wanted to get better/doesn't want to die (the belief that when an organ of yours is bad, you eat someone's else's) When Haruki texted her the same thing at the end though, he meant that he wants her soul to live within him (the other researched theory of hers, that she brought up at the barbecue place) At the end in the farewell letter when Sakura now says it again tho, this time she meant it just like Haruki did... (hence why he asked for the phone, realizing his feelings had reached her) PS: Haruki said it will be a motivation for 'him' (the chewing gum guy), when Kyoko said: "we won't start dating until the exams" ( •_•) sry guys
