I totally understand being frustrated about her work not being portrayed as she had hoped or intended. It also makes sense given she saw what happened with Sweet Today. However, claiming that the script writer has no talent, must not have read the source material, etc, is insane to me ESPECIALLY given the fact she has never even spoken to him directly. The script writer clearly has passion for his work as well as the source material, worked hard and spent long hours on it, and was working hard to accommodate the requests he was receiving and doing what he thought the author was asking for. On top of that he even immediately apologized and offered to revise any part moving forward after hearing her complaints. Yet she still attacked not only his work but him as a person and creator, and took over the job completely. Again, I get that there are two sides to it, but the way she acted and spoke is completely unprofessional and disrespectful.

If the scriptwriter does poorly most people blame the scriptwriter because (almost always) the author came first. On the other hand, if the scriptwriter does well they often get little credit and most people just praise the originals author even more.

2024-10-10 15:31:13 +0000 UTCWhile I appreciate your take on her words. I actually disagree with you. I think it's very important/good that she prefaced her complaints of the script altering the characters by saying she thought they were "amazing". They being the actors in this case, imho. She said the stage play would be a success because despite the bad script she saw that the *Actors* were beautifully portraying what they were given. She has faith that the casting is good. She just blames the script being rewritten as the problem. This makes even more sense when we get to the part of the episode where they show that the scipt went through like 5 hands between the scriptwriter and author.

2024-10-10 05:51:17 +0000 UTC28:52 I hate to say it but that's the only point that I do not agree at least in the entertainment industry. For example as a video programmer, ppl wont care at all nor will affect the gameplay on how "clean" my code was or how readable it was or if I used the perfect function for a mechanic of the game, the only thing it matters is that the player had fun playing my game. it just a "cool" thing to know that the game had nice coding rules but if the game is trash and not fun to play it doesn't matter how long I spend on that code. And funny enough I don't think having some "trash" areas on a game or anime is bad, just look Evangelion, the last few ep would be considered "horrible" but people found art and love in the anime. Even more recently the anime "Days with My Stepsister" had bad animation (not horrible) but the work of the director its love of his work it's almost tangible. That's why I think that teaches you what matters the most is the end product, it doesn't matter what stepbacks or obstacles you had the only thing that matters is the end product.

2024-10-10 01:54:51 +0000 UTCalso the script wasn't even bad. Abiko herself said that the play is going to be a success. she lashed out like that because things were changed to fit a stage play. that's borderline insane

2024-10-10 00:47:43 +0000 UTCIronic that this is the show that brings that point up. I've read the manga of Oshi no Ko and give it a solid 8/10, highly recommend. The anime though? It's a 9.5/10 for real, they did SO good with bringing the panels and story to life. The anime pacing is also better imo, won't spoil anything but the way the manga started was quite different and confusing compared to the anime.

2024-10-09 23:28:58 +0000 UTCI 1000% agree with Cara. In absolutely no world is what Abiko said okay. Especially in a professional setting. That’s like me telling you after a long recording and editing session that you might as well have kept your eyes closed and the sound muted because your reaction wasn’t good enough or how I liked it. It completely ignores your efforts and also how much fun and had while making your content.

2024-10-09 23:23:09 +0000 UTCit's the same shit with anime adaptations. the manga/LN/VN/whatever could be a 10/10 but if the anime was shit then most people wouldn't even touch the source material. So I can completely see her point in wanting it to be perfect and exactly what she envisioned but DAMN she put him on blast so hard for something that wasn't even his fault; he had to work with GODAWFUL instructions xd

2024-10-09 23:17:17 +0000 UTCto me does not matter what opinion the author had she was rude and could have worded her complaint better to call the script wrier untalented was rude

2024-10-09 23:06:16 +0000 UTCYou can write the most banger novel, doesn't mean you know how to write for film, tv or stage. The scriptwriter gets the bulk of the blame for any adaptation, the original author won't see a similar amount of hate unless it does amazingly.

2024-10-09 21:55:13 +0000 UTC3:46 Ichigo is Strawberry in japanese, that's why. Sometimes the subtitles translate it literally and sometimes they leave the japanese pronunciation. But if you go back to season 1, they always spoke "ichigo".
