2024-12-16 08:00:15 +0000 UTCas a musician myself, this show legit gets SO. MUCH. RIGHT. not just the actual hand movements being animated correctly, but also what being a musician is like. We're all narcissists with delusions of grandeur but can't hold down a conversation to save our lives (unless we're singers too, in which case the narcissism is turned up to 4000%). no matter how good you are on your own, playing with others is a completely different ballgame. And the most important thing every musician needs to learn: regardless of how much you practice, your first gig is GOING to suck.

I'm actually really impressed with the end result feeling like an ongoing narrative and less like a series of brief skits strung together.

The characters and dialogue is great, the pacing is great, the music is great, the way it makes you cry for Hitori and laugh out loud at the same time is great. My favorite thing is how well they show two very different types of introverts, Hitori the ball of anxiety and Ryo the comfortable loner
