This is a good episode, but this is my first time watching it with subtitles, and they really should have had a British person write the subtitles for this instead of an American. They’re using the wrong English and it really jars against the Japanese.

2024-11-30 19:23:37 +0000 UTCThe man Violet met at the end of the episode is Dietfried Bougainville, Gilbert's brother. We've seen Dietfried before since he was the one who gave Violet to Gilbert. When they first found Violet she attacked Dietfried's men on the ship, that is the flashback we seen at the end. Violet was very feral when she was found by Dietfried and his men. Not sure if you like knowing who the VAs are or not, but there several you are familiar with in Violet. Violet = Mikasa from Attack on Titan; Gilbert (aka the Major) = Oikwawa from Haikyuu; Benedict (blond guy who works with Violet) = Tsukki from Haikyuu; Hodgins (Violet's boss) = Zeke from Attack on Titan and Toji from JJK. In this episode we had Prince Damian = Nanami from JJK.

2024-11-30 14:19:29 +0000 UTCA lot of the towns and countries have German names in this show, making the similarities to World War 1 even more apparent. The country Violet is in is called "Leidenschaftlich" which means "passionate" and the capital city is named "Leiden" which means "suffering". In this episode the two countries also had German names. "Drossel" , which is the German name of a bird, the "trush" and "Flügel" translates to "wings".

2024-11-30 05:56:18 +0000 UTCI always cry watching that hand to the forehead. Always reminds me of doing that to my grandmother every time I greeted her.
