Because i always thought that he signaled the play to get the receive slightly off on purpose, to lead the blocker(hinata) away from the hitter. Oikawa was even thinking "it's on purpose" when hinata thought the receive was off and followed him. And like oikawa said in that scene -they are well aware that maddog is a double edged sword, thats why they put him in- so i don't think the team needed a signal. Because like you said, they have really good chemistry off and on the court and even with maddog being the odd one out, they still know what he's like and what he can bring to the table and to just let him be and do what he does… Or maybe i was just wrong the whole time for thinking that…😅

2024-12-26 05:45:22 +0000 UTCidk if you noticed, but that seijoh play where oikawa tapped his knee was basically the rest of the team adjusting to let kyoutani do what he can do, which i think is super interesting. all the other players have really good off and on the court chemistry, kyoutani is the odd one out but it works for them because of how they trust each other and are able to trust him in return, it's actually kinda really sweet

2024-12-24 17:53:54 +0000 UTCFrom my understanding, Takeda-sensei is the official coach for Karasuno. Technically, Ukai didn’t join until mid year and doesn’t have an official position with the school/team. That’s why Takeda-sensei has to call the time out
