The song "If I could be a constellation" has double meaning when Kita sings. Kita wants to shine for Bocchi as well. So when the time comes for Bocchi to take the stage alone Kita would not be left behind.

I never even noticed that until you pointed it out and I went back to look for it but it's definitely there. It makes so much sense too because Ryo has always been the most in-tune with Boochi's talent and behaviour that she probably was watching her explicitly for the moment Boochi recovered from the situation. Props to Kita for getting good enough to cover Boochi long enough.

"Now it won't matter if she's a little out of tune" should be more like "Now it won't matter if the string's a little out of tune" and the reason for it is already pointed out by an early comment explaining what a "bottleneck guitar" is meant to be. Also at 7:20, I love the fact that they showed Ryo checking on Bocchi picking up the bottle than gives eye contact to Nijika to extend the solo part to let Bocchi play out.

2025-01-04 11:56:22 +0000 UTCI couldn't find anything on the Japanese rumour sites about it. The most recent one I found was last updated in August (after the second movie came out) saying that there were no reliable rumours of second series.

I picked up gliss guitar from the bands Gong and Hawkwind (70's psychedelic prog and space rock with lots of jazz influence), and the 80's band inspired by those 2, Ozric Tentacles (same styles, but merged with the burgeoning British Dance Music and Electronic scenes). Loved seeing all the music nerdiness in this show with them getting into the genres and playing techniques that I love. And I've always been a little bit of a Bocchi lol.

It's usually played with either a metal or glass tube around one finger--sometimes literally even an improvised bottleneck. When they said "now it doesn't matter if she's a little out of tune," that's because, for one, the slide doesn't use the guitar's frets: the slide itself acts as a mobile fret instead, meaning the guitarist can use their ear to manually place every note in tune (i.e. if the string is a little flat, they just play every note slightly sharp). And second, the sound of slide style is defined by a smooth gliding between notes (called glissando), and slide guitarists deliberately play around with the "out of tune" spaces between notes to give it it's unique sound. So basically Bocchi is brilliant and found a solution that eliminated her problem entirely.

2025-01-04 01:03:45 +0000 UTCStill no Season 2 yet... but we do have some hope because they released 2 "compilation" movies (ie. season 1 recaps) and they did really well in the theaters (both had opening weekend box office receipts over 200 million yen). The first movie (Bocchi the Rock! Re:) recapped eps 1-8 with a new animated intro and 2 new songs that served as the OP and ED. I missed out on watching the aptly named second movie "Bocchi the Rock! Re: Re:" 😂 which is supposed to include another new song and a new intro that depicts what everyone did during their summer break! 😭

2025-01-04 00:19:12 +0000 UTCBocchi is one of my favorite feel good animes. The manga is still ongoing. There have been rumors of a season 2 for a couple years now but nothing official. The director had a huge hit with Frieren so I think he's been tied up with season 2 of that.
