I actually feel for Olmar a little bit in episode 12. The reason being is his naivety and slight idiocy were taken advantage of here, to provide a reason for Canute to take Ketil's farm. Yes, Olmar made a bad choice, but this was what Canute foresaw. I also think it's worth noting that after killing for the first time, Olmar is not excited or proud to have killed someone. This is likely partially due to the shame he feels, but I also think he did not enjoy killing. There's something to be said for him seemingly being upset by his own actions. It's also a turning point, where Olmar has killed someone and can't take that back. Anyway, excited to see your reactions to cour 2 (second half of the season)! It's PEAK

2025-04-09 04:33:01 +0000 UTCThe violence in this season is VERY violent and VERY bloody, which is such a contrast to Thorfinn's new found choice to not fight, to embrace a different path. Canute would have found another way to "punish" Ketil in order to take the farm, but Olmar was a convenient fool that gave Canute to opportunity.
