2025-05-26 01:21:07 +0000 UTCSee, this episode I feel like really disputes the idea that Loulan and Shisui are the same person. Lets review: If Shisui IS Concubine Loulan = She hears from the eunach relaying that the ice was ruined and that the people who ruined it are going to "make a replacement" for her. When she hears that it is Maomao/Xaiolan she would likely suspect, based on reputation and observation, that it will get done relatively quickly and thus if she suddenly "vanished" to be Shisui and help them she'd be missing for the delivery of the ice cream. Note: I do concede that if she has a stand-in this isn't impossible... but it's also just not really realistic? Like what is the purpose of sneaking off to go see something that is being made *for her* to see anyway. If Shisui is a servant/Lady-in-Waiting/Spy for Concubine Loulan = Shisui finds out, via the eunach coming to report to Concubine Loulan (likely even *to* Shisui if she is in fact one of the important lady-in-waitings) and realizes this is an opportunity to see Maomao "fixing" things again while "covering it" (doubling as) as checking on her friends (which to be clear, while I do think she is a spy I do also think the friendship is genuine). She hurries off, sees that all is well and knows she doesn't have to report anything (yet) because the Ice Cream is going to her Lady anyway. This is just my take... I concede they are still both possible. I just feel like it's *illogical* for Concubine Loulan to disguise herself to go look at the thing that is in fact being made for her.
