2025-04-24 12:48:29 +0000 UTCI think the flashbacks to Arima's first performance where Emi cries are a good bit more than just 2y ago. Most ppl seem to see it the same as Prez which could be true. I think it's younger like maybe 10... Arima is 14/15 now,lost his ability to play 2y ago, mom died when he was 11(?). Little bobble head Arima had to go from that first awkward performance to a famous protege by 12 when he stops playing, and Emi had to go from not having played piano to competing and finishing top 3 vs Arima by 12. Just my thoughts, idk one way or the other though.

2025-04-24 06:27:46 +0000 UTCA really really tough episode to watch but so so powerful. The fact that his "mother" that he is seeing in the performance is telling him, "yes this your punishment", just shows how much guilt and pain he is carrying around and suffering in silence.

The flashback about Emi watching Arima's first performance for example, they were 5yo at the time, and the flashback about Arima's last performance when he stopped hearing the notes and started crying, he was around 11 to 12yo. They just didn't change much the artstyle, so the other flashbacks can be happening any time between their 5 to 12 years. But yeah, it's kinda weird seeing them in the flashback as 11yo looking about the same as their 5yo version 😂
