Cara was right in that this sequence occurred at the beginning as well, but it took on a different feel because it was actually spoken in the Icelandic language, and also the imagery displayed was dark and ominous. Though at the end of the season, we learn it's actually very beautiful. "Carve it" can mean so many things at the same time, and I think one interpretation that I find compelling is Thorfinn is, in essence, carving his ideals into those around him, which wouldn't have occurred without every other person carving their experiences, thoughts and emotions into him. It's truly a story unlike most that I've seen, a story about redemption, courage, humanity and the very real and powerful encounters with people. "I have no enemies", to me at least, is simply just that your empathy, your compassion, isn't conditional. Which is what makes Thorfinn strong and kind, a real man, in my eyes.

That being said, every time I watch Vinland with a new reaction channel, it always makes me feel like we all just experienced something amazing, that truly transcends the media itself. It was a great time watching with you both, you guys are so intelligent and so attentive to the messages this series is trying to convey. By far some of the best reactions I’ve seen to this anime! Glad you guys enjoyed this one, it’s a very moving and compelling story. 👏🏻

2025-05-11 15:21:08 +0000 UTCExplanation for Prez's breakdown at the end😅: 13/14 years ago (2011) Prez's sister left the family house without any communication afterwards, the family had no idea where she was, what she looked like anymore, if she was ok or truth be told if she was even alive. That is until this year when she got in touch with Prez and they managed to have a family reunion for the first time in person since 2011, so seeing Thorfinn reunite with his mother was quite triggering (in the best way) hence the reaction, so much so that we forgot to actually explain why he's crying so much😅, we decided to leave that segment in because we like sharing a part of ourselves with all of you, even the less pretty parts lol we just hope you didn't mind all them tears😂
