My favorite thing about the reveal for Kushida is the realization that the personality she displays for everyone (the "I'm so nice, I just want to be everyones friend") isn't actually a lie. Both "versions" of her are really here. Neither is a mask. She doesn't publicly display the cold, harsh, and angry side of her to the public but the reality is that she really, really hates the kind of shit people will selfishly make you do. She really is that strain of crazy. On the other hand, she does also genuinely want to be friends with everyone and to be liked/adored. She wasn't lying when she said she wanted to be friends with everyone. She really does want the adoration and attention that comes with that. She actually kind of needs it in an extremely unhealthy way. It's something I really liked about Kushida's big reveal. Many shows (including this one very often) like to showcase the concept of people putting on masks (aka "putting up a front") to hide the part of themselves they deem ugly. They set up Kushida like she is another one of these types of characters by convincing us, the audience, she's actually a psycho of some kind behind that "fake" exterior. Then they flip the script and reveal that the nice exterior is not actually "fake". She does actually want to be nice and friendly. She just is also doing it for very psychotic reasons. Pretty cool and a nice twist on the character archetype she was set into.
