But... next episode is what really demonstrates the 2nd part of that best so I'll wait for that episode to elaborate here :)

"If this is truly, from the bottom of your heart, the Karane you want to be, then I will support you all the way and I will do my best to love you all the same. But, if you want to change because you hated who you were, I will never accept it. I won't let anyone, not even YOU, look down on her... the Karane I love the most." Beautiful. Letting her know that her low self-esteem isn't just mis-placed but he actively dislikes that she would put herself down.
