Hey everyone,

Last few weeks have been incredibly busy on all fronts, and I know I've missed a couple of Sunday dev diaries - let me show you where development time actually went!

Animation Evolution - A Visual Comparison

I'm quite excited about where the animation quality is going. This comparison shows the journey.

The OG hand-made frame by frame was not even using video files yet. You can tell it was cobbled together but it's cool to see how far it has come!

The middle was already using the most advanced models available at the time. Motion quality was actually pretty decent and already took tons of effort, but you can see the issues. (lower-quality, more unnatural, lost details like the skin moles, hair clipping through body, no proper looping... to name a few)

I don't think the new animations are perfect but we are getting there, step by step towards BtW: The Animation 😍

This still took a LOT of work to get to this stage and still requires significant effort per animation, but as someone who enjoys this part, it feels worth it.

The promised public release includes 100+ animations. Each one takes 2+ hours even with AI. Some is pure rendering time, which allows me to work in parallel but it does mean I need a bit more time as I work on the new update and keep improving older material, gotta balance 😅

The Actual Arc Update
I won't share too much today but I will share the good news: Draft is completed!

More concrete details this Sunday.
