Rick and Morty 1x5 Reaction Early Access!

This episode was the one that made me fall in love with Rick and Morty, and the reason is the same reason why Calvin had that amazing laugh when the Meeseeks asked for a Meeseeks. While it just seems like a silly joke to have a Meeseeks get help from another Meeseeks, I actually think it's genius writing. First, they had to invent the concept of a Meeseeks, and then they asked themselves, "What can we do with this? How ridiculous can this get?" It's the same kind of high-concept genius that made me love Community when that show was on.

One of my favorite things about watching these Rick&Morty videos is seeing how varied peoples reactions can be. For example: What many fans consider one of the absolute funniest lines in the entire series barely illicited a chuckle from the Blind Wave crew (Random lady's "What the **** is going on??..") and yet another funny moment that never gets mentioned by most fans seems to be Blind Wave's favorite so far (the Superman-shirt grandpa in the closet). Really makes things interesting and adds another level of intrigue to watching these. It's awesome that people find humor in different parts of the show, but that they also seem to be loving it all the same :)

This was very character building for Rick for me, with that look on his face when he saw Mr. Jellybean like he knew what happened and got him back for it at the end. It really demonstrated how much he cares for Morty, I think.

I think it's interesting that Meseeks are the existential opposite of humans; they know their purpose in life and want to die, but humans don't know why we exist yet are terrified of death.

Aw they left out the deepest part of the episode Meseeks speech. Paraphrasing someone get the transcript. Existence is pain to a Meseeks Jerry. We weren't born into this world fumbling for meaning Jerry. We were created for a singular purpose which we will go to any lengths to fulfill.
