Honestly from just these episodes you can see why Mako and Korra are pretty incompatible this season.

Hopefully you guys enjoy the beginning of this season enough to get to the end. Imo the second half is where the story picks itself up, brushes itself off, and starts behaving like an avatar series again.

Why tho Season 2 has one of the best episode in the whole avatar series both tlab and korra imo

To be fair, the only way Aang would go to the spirit world spiritually, actually sending his spirit through what separates the spirit world from ours. It's like there's a wall separating us. With the portal, there's a door, that you could actually PHYSICALLY pass through.

I'm sure you guys would catch one in an episode or two anyway, but it wasn't Ikki that saw the avatar statue glow, that was Jinora, the girl that isn't missing

I actually think it was less Aang playing favorites with Tenzin and more he brought Tenzin along with him while he was doing his duty as Avatar to train him in air bending and culture to secure air bending line for the Avatar cycle. The fun trips Tenzin remembers are really breaks from their long training sessions. Bumi and Kya perceived Tenzin going along with their dad was him favoring Tenzin over them. Likely the real issue was Aang taking his Avatar duties so seriously kept him away from home a lot, from Bumi and Kya. Tenzin was the only kid to inherit air bending Aang spent a lot of time training and teaching Tenzin, putting pressure on him to continue the culture. All three kids were negatively impacted by Aang's Avatar duty in different ways and each kid thinks the other one got the better end of the deal. Katara likely insisting her kids all go together was to get them to talk and realize there was no favorite and realize they are loved by their dad but he made mistakes along the way or parenting them while trying to be what he thought was being a good Avatar.

You guys never understood the spirit world, you are thinking about the spirit world as a after life but is not, is not the place where you go after you die is a other dimension where spirits live, and now it looks like the portal is a gateway to the spirit world.

Most of those accomplishments only occurred because of her own recklessness and attitude. If you think about it, the events in seasons 3 and 4 only transpired because of her actions this season.

Aang stopped a hundred year war, true. Korra will surprise you tho, to me She is a better Avatar than Aang was in terms of accomplishments.\

its Kya after Kataras mother.

Whilst i agree mostly with the Korra observation. This season is definitely not a bad season, it contains two of my favourite episodes of all time.

How would they have had air bending kids? We dont know if that is possible, and its rather unlikely, because then we probably would still see airbenders popping up here and there.

This is one of my favourite episodes in the entire series tbh. I love Korra's conversation with her mother and I love her reunion with her parents at the end. Also the fight between Korra and the rebels is awesome.

Korra is a complete b*tch and just a total idiot this entire season. The whole season makes you want to vote against her. She's easily played and is mean to everyone the whole time. Worst season of Avatar for sure. and when I mean worst, its like season 2 is a 2/10 and the rest are an 8 or 9

The Avatar opened the SPIRIT portal. The only thing I can assume is that its a portal to the spirit world.

One thing I love about the scene with Korra's parents is how the music is a little reminiscent of the "Reconciliation" score from TLA when Zuko found Iroh again. The Track Team is one of the best parts of the Avatar squad.

The first half of this season was done by a different animation company than the first season. But then the original company did the back half of the season along with Seasons 3 and 4.

Bumi and Kya could have air bender kids; that is why Aang behaving is stupid. Kya is right, his and air nomads legacy could have been taught to the 3 of them.

Like Gevin said there is evidence of people going physically to the spirit world. It was said Iroh went as well as Sokka and the other villagers. What Aang did was a little different, he projected his spirit into the spirit world. Possibly because of how spiritual he was. I'm looking forward to your reaction and interpretation as we move forward though!

Yeah, Also a spirit took Sokka to the spirit world, and he left no body behind.
