Arrow 6x2 Poll!
Added 2017-10-21 23:13:42 +0000 UTCDo you think that the reasoning behind Oliver giving up his role as The Green Arrow justifies it being the fifth time his has done it?

I think it’s a interesting idea, but I was pissed at the end of the episode when they handed it to dig, I watch arrow to watch Oliver KICK ASS.. I know he’ll be back soon but I don’t really like the idea of dig being the GA
2017-10-27 04:02:15 +0000 UTCIt hasn't been the fifth time. First time he quit was end of season 3. Second time was during season 5. This is the third time. The real question is how many times has Barry been the cause of the villains each season? 4 times lol

2017-10-26 03:40:00 +0000 UTCThe fact that he is a single parent now and mayor of the city makes this the only time it’s actually seemed justifiable. But it won’t happen. A. Dig can’t take his place as he doesn’t have the skill and now the physical capability of doing so. B. Steven Amel has said he will play Oliver Queen forever if they let him!

2017-10-23 18:42:37 +0000 UTCwell I think this has been the first time as the green arrow haven't the others been as the vigilante. but yes I think this one is an imposable one for Oliver your talking about a son who just lost his mother and needs more than anything vs a city of complete strangers who need him who he can still help as the mayor.

2017-10-23 12:31:03 +0000 UTCOliver should shit or get off the pot. Either be the Green Arrow, or don't. Also, Diggle should just switch hands. Any competent shooter can shoot ambidextrously.

2017-10-23 05:28:22 +0000 UTCI think you worded the question a bit weird. I don't think anything justifies that it has been done 5 times, but I think that this IS a justified reason to do it.

2017-10-22 22:09:35 +0000 UTCFrom an objective standpoint i suppose i understand, but as a fan of the show i am slightly bummed that the writers are going down this route yet again. This just seems a little played out, he is obviously going to be Green Arrow again because without Oliver Queen as green arrow there is no show
Jon Dub
2017-10-22 20:00:35 +0000 UTCi think it's justified because now he has to take care of a kid but if (when) he becomes Green Arrow again I never want to see him give up his role as GA ever again then it will be too repetitive

2017-10-22 14:51:54 +0000 UTCEven in his mind, it's just until William goes off to college. X] or he'll start sneaking out at night like an unhappy married couple.

2017-10-22 12:15:15 +0000 UTCIt's the best, most logical reason the show has provided so far but after the first four times it is incredibly tiresome. In "real life" Oliver steeping into an advisory/decision making role while the rest of the team go in the field makes complete sense. Unfortunately the show is called Arrow so it obviously cant stick which makes floating the idea seem like a waste of time.

2017-10-22 10:45:05 +0000 UTCI would say yes if it was the first time he decided to quit. After 5 times he should know that he's not capable of not beeing The Green Arrow.

2017-10-22 09:35:46 +0000 UTCI chose no, but honestly, it doesn't really bother me. I've binged seasons 1-4 in about 2 weeks and watched season 5 as soon as it came to netflix, so to me things have been going relatively fast, to the point where all the seasons converge.

2017-10-22 07:40:42 +0000 UTCIt's just writer's rehashing things to move things along I think. But it's whatever to me. I'm so used to shows having some downside to them, I just look over it.

2017-10-22 04:33:46 +0000 UTChe should abort the child
2017-10-22 03:52:56 +0000 UTCI understand the reasoning but Oliver giving up being the GA doesn't guarantee that he won't get hurt. Something could happen to Oliver just being Oliver or for being the mayor. Also William becoming an orphan, how do I put this? I'm sure he'd be "fine" as far as money and Oliver's friends helping. Orphan doesn't have to mean a bad life. Oliver should have plans for a what if. Write a will, have godparents Slade, Thea, Lance, Barry, make sure that if Oliver dies, William is taken care of. (The Green Mayorrow)

2017-10-22 03:35:02 +0000 UTCA.V. Club put it best: "Perhaps someone just dropping in for a quick Arrow outing might miss the significance, but regular viewers will remember that John also has a child. That’s not one guy asking another guy to step up. That’s a man asking his best friend to be the most visible target on the team, because Oliver’s son has already lost a parent, and Diggle’s son has both."
Seany McBuckets
2017-10-22 02:55:31 +0000 UTCI agree that he's reasoning for quiting this time is the most understandable but the fact that this is the fifth time it's happend kind of takes away any emotional inpact it might have.

2017-10-22 02:39:59 +0000 UTCDiggle is likely going to be a trail run but I think they are setting this up for Roy to return and become GA.........maybe. Especially with Thea in a coma, everything is lining up for at least him to take the mantle. But Oliver as GA was seen on set for the crossover so this probably won't last long anyway
Jon Avalon
2017-10-22 02:29:07 +0000 UTCThe justification is fine but unfortunately they have already done this too many times...plus we all know Oliver has to be around for the crossover...so I went with No on this
SPARTAN 465
2017-10-22 01:55:43 +0000 UTCALSO, a YouTube comment pointed out to me that if John were worried about leaving JJ fatherless, he wouldn't have become Spartan in the first place. Therefore Oliver made a decision to entrust the mantle to someone that he knew would be ok with it. EXCEPT THE FACT THAT HE HAS FREAKIN NERVE DAMAGE but yeah
I Am Groot
2017-10-22 01:53:41 +0000 UTCNo. I think this storyline is played out. Just like the "Oliver is outed" or "the cops don't like him" storylines. This is my favorite TV show, but it doesn't make the bullshit stink any less.
Sam K
2017-10-22 01:00:35 +0000 UTCIt's a good justification, but this story line feels too played out, especially since we all know Oliver will be the Green Arrow for as long as the show is around.
Dylan Carpenter
2017-10-22 00:38:18 +0000 UTCI just hope that it's permanent and that John Diggle is the new Green Arrow for the rest of this season, as well as any seasons after this, rather than just a few episodes.
Nathan Mortenson
2017-10-22 00:36:02 +0000 UTCYes because this time he is thinking about his son
Matthew
2017-10-22 00:13:01 +0000 UTCI feel like Oliver has his reasons but If Diggle doesn’t have his arm fixed by the crossover, heck he can use the wave rider Medway, what’s his point this season?
Daniel Parkinson
2017-10-22 00:09:17 +0000 UTCBatman has retired before but he is always drawn back to it cause evil never stops. Green Arrow is the same way really. No matter how much he wants to he'll always come back cause evil isnt going away.
Skeletor
2017-10-22 00:04:48 +0000 UTCI am kinda torn on this. I understand the reasoning behind his decision on one side to protect William and serve the city as mayor. But on the other hand the stakes don't really feel that high, especially because Oliver made this decision so many times before
Flashback007
2017-10-22 00:03:51 +0000 UTCShould have just gotten Roy it would have solved everything
Jeff Knapp
2017-10-22 00:02:45 +0000 UTCYes, one can only think the writers have gotten lazy.

2017-10-21 23:47:11 +0000 UTCIf Diggle dies the kid still has a mother

2017-10-21 23:40:37 +0000 UTCIf you can't see the difference between 2 parents and 1 parent, then I can't help you Eric.

2017-10-21 23:35:18 +0000 UTCKids change everything so I get where he’s coming from, but does he want to make Diggles kid lose his dad too. I say send up the Arsenal signal instead. Even though we all know this won’t last.
Andrew Courtney
2017-10-21 23:23:33 +0000 UTCBut he has Lyla. William would have no one if Oliver died. That’s the difference.
Ragnarok
2017-10-21 23:20:12 +0000 UTCI think it makes more sense now than the other times. He's the mayor, a dad and the Green Arrow. When does the dude sleep? Plus William really needs a full time parent. Raisa is great but she's not enough. Especially since he lost the only parent he knew he whole life.
Brandi H
2017-10-21 23:17:55 +0000 UTCDiggle has a son but is not the only father he have, if Oliver dies William would be orphan, I think is a valid reason but I hate the show is doing this when we know Oliver will totally be back at least before the crossover

2017-10-21 23:17:10 +0000 UTCI mean yeah. Being a father and taking care of a kid is a big deal. Especially a single parent. And it gives Dig a really cool storyline 😁
