I learned today that (Guru)"Laghima" is an actual thing. Its said that once you reach the peak of spiritual realization, you gain these siddhis (spiritual powers). a ancient yogi wrote about these. (yoga sutras of patanjali) Laghima: The aspirant who acquired this power can abstain (SPOILER). It is quite interesting how deep this goes.

Well, the world in Korra's time is more globalized and modernized, so it's not so odd to see the general bending stances being formed around that. You guys didn’t seem to pick up on it, but Zaheer said “...with the red lotus as your elemental masters, you could have...” which implies Zaheer would have had to of been Korra’s Airbending master. Also it’s heavily implied that Zaheer would have spent all his time in prison in the spirit world, which explains why he’s so powerful and incredibly capable there.

the choreography in ATLA was way better in my opinion, where you had to do specific moves to make the elements move properly. here they just punch and it does the same. less creative in my opinion.

Zaheer appears to be a very spiritual and disciplined person even before he got air bending. He likely studied and practiced to get as intune with the Spirit World as he did and learned how to do all the abilities he can do there. With the original series Aang was learning how to enter the Spirit World and communicate with spirits as he went along. My guess is had Aang’s training not been rushed thanks to the war that Aang would have likely learned how to do similar things we see Zaheer do. That is assuming Aang didn’t take time to learn all of this after the war.

Blind wave, I meant when you said they got the necklace from Xai bau. Xai bau was the founder of the red lotus. The guy that zaheer keep’s mentioning and the original owner of the necklace was the air bender Guru laghima. My bad, I confused you when I only said ‘guru’.

I think you guys confused the air bender guru with the founder of the red lotus. Overall great reaction and I can’t wait for you guys to finish season 3 which is what I consider to be the magnum opus of legend of korra

I rly liked this episode! It was nice to see more team avatar bonding esp between korra and asami bc I feel like those 2 haven't rly spent any positive time together b4 this book. Also the fight scene was super cool and zaheer is a rly intriguing villain

The guys are confusing some things. Misty Palms Oasis is in fact the same place where Aang met Professor Zei and the sandbenders as well as Iroh and Zuko meeting with the White Lotus. Another is that Xai Bau's Grove is not the same as Guru Laghima the airbender Zaheer keeps mentioning.
