The Flash 4x16 Poll!

Would you like to see Iris West-Allen with powers again in the future?

Comments

It was a fun idea but personally I thought this episode just had terrible writing

Abhi Gudivada

But the suit will be pass on to Dawn.

Edgar Navas

I had no problems with the episode, but I don’t want Iris getting a power every year to be a gimmick. Sometimes there is a risk of overdoing something and it getting old and losing what originally made it fun or good.

Jjop017

I wouldn't like to see her having powers. I feel like her character has enough going for it especially with the reporter thing back. I enjoy these types of shows more when fewer people have powers. Also this is my first comment on Patreon, go me!

Starks

They could have the new guy give iris one of the thinkers powers if he takes any away

We gave her Flash powers but not her GODDAMN JOB AS A REPORTER! #WriteIrisWrite.

Gavin Hardiman

na bruh

Angry bob ross

Nah

Fernando

I would like to see it happen again but I doubt they would as she's proven that she's far better behind the computer and helping Barry save the day. We might see moments where Matthew uses his powers again on team Flash which would be rather funny to watch.

I hate Iris. The reason i way too long to type. The writers are idiots of the highest order. They should watch shield and learn something

Rahul Attray

na, already a lot of powers kinda not being used as is.

Angry bob ross

I hate this season.

Yagami Light

I’d say nah only because we have had way to many speedsters already although I did like her lightning colour, but with having switcher on the team now it opens up the opportunity for her to get ANY power in the future if she has to have one. Although I’d prefer joe to get a power at some point.

haii all check out my page for some adult cute content :) see you soon XXX Nina https://www.patreon.com/PeachyNina

I certainly enjoyed the concept and execution of this one off episode, however, I couldn't see the writers doing it again. I am curious however if this will effect her journalist story this season or not.

Everyone doesn't need powers. I just think it would be too contrived.

MailDude

Come see my page NSFW, i am new www.patreon.com/lucyx3

I voted no, but I’d be open to her being in her purple suit as a distraction for something. Kind of like the holographic decoys they used before.

Christopher Aviles

No. She should stay behind the computer. Tell the world about The Flash and his adventures.

Mary Poppins Y'all

I would prefer if she got another power other than speed and I think they might bring it back. Also, they made a suit so they will bring it back

I said yes, because that would mean she'd be out in the field all the time, taking her away from the sitting in the lab, giving pep talks into a mic

Too many people with powers as it is, and they barely utilize them, we don’t need another just to be smacked unconscious right off the bat like the other side characters, I was relieved hers were temporary

it would be cool for iris to have powers just not Barry's powers

Daxellz

nah nothing will happen they didn't use dark matter one of ciscos reasons for helping harry was no dark matter

Daxellz

I want Whizzer

Top Screen

Yes i would like to i really liked the purple lightning also that suit was cool. U forgot to hit the button again damn it ERIC

Dip602

NOOOOPE and not related to the poll, but isnt Harry's body going to start deteriorating because of the thinking cap? Kinda feels like that was too easy for it to work with no downside.

DeathSwitch

Ha fuck no. Cisco, Catlin, wally, Jesse all now have powers since joining. And I liked all of them and their powers. Tbh iris annoys me too much to have her in the field and with powers. Just keep someone without powers and she can be a leader and blogger.

BarryAllen1310

I don’t want everyone to have powers. I think her strength is the way she can lead the group and make the hard decisions. No super powers needed for that. Just resolve.

Callie Stephen

Nah.. I'm good with her being normal. I really wanted her to go back to journalism. Now that they finally explained why she wasn't working and Barry losing his job, this is her time to get back into the field. Let the girl work!!!

Anthia Grant

It would be interesting, but another power other than being fast. There's way too many speedters on this show.

Juliane Ivanow

One episode was good. Especially because it put Iris in Barry's shoes and vice versa. Makes both of them see things from a different perspective.

Flashback007

Na. I think with too many powered people the show starts making less sense

Ryan O'Malley

I think one episode is enough, it was cool but idk how they would think of an explanation of how she got speed powers again. Plus she’s getting back into journalism which is what the majority wants.

MONEY

Gazman

No and finally she’s going to go back to journalism. About time

No, i think this episode was enough for now, it happened in the comics once only i think, so it prob where they got the idea from, and i don't see them repeating it a second time.

Cameron Mason

I honestly thought the episode was going to take place on Earth 3 and Iris's doppelgänger was the speedster Jay Garrick was talking about at the end of Flashtime. Plus, the bank that the fire guy was robbing was the same bank the Earth 3 Trickster robbed in season 3.

I say no only because if its permanent it just feels like a " We have nothing to do with Iris as a character shes been pretty pointless this season lets give her Barrys powers and make this a Iris episode then take it right back and have her do nothing again... But hey people cant say she was useless this season cus she had this ONE episode where she was fast and did something" lol

MustacheKash

Once in a while if they have good reasons for her to gain a power for a short while would be cool, but if they do it should be different powers each time.

Kevin Bartelen

Iris' suit and lightning color aren't "just plainly cosmetic", that sort of stuff never is, there always meant to be an easter egg or reference to another dc character behind it... Closest I could think of is Jenni Ognats (aka Xs) from Legion of Superheroes, who is also Barry's granddaughter and Dawn Allen's daughter...

n p

Yes. I don't think it's necessary, but it would piss off all the people who irrationally hate Iris.

Nathan Mortenson

Since you could vote yes and no, I choose both. I wouldn't really care and I think they could do something like the Godspeed story line from rebirth. (Not going to explain more cause of SPOILERS)

Kyle Snyder

No, we dont need anymore speedsters look at what happened to Wally lol

Wolf Nation (Moe)

Yes, Team Flash, that she is the leader of and has been ever since Barry was gone for 6 months, and will continue to be because that's just how bad ass she is.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

I think it's the black sails chick who is from the future. I think

julio morales

No.. my guess is they did this with the whole #feminism thing that happened last year when she even stated she was team leader.. (last time I checked it was called team flash.. not team iris)

julio morales

No thank you. We need more strong and brave powerless humans helping the team. With all these super powered hereos running around, you might as well just rename team Flash Justice League.

Gezno

No. For me its the equivalent of having Felicity shoot people with arrows. It just shouldn't happen. From a storytelling standpoint they all but forgot about Iris being a writer in season 2 even though thats her main drive in the comics, than she was just a plot device in season 3. A damsel that we knew they'd never kill. And then she was shoehorned into the role of Team Flash leader for no reason this year even tho anyone else on that team is more qualified. Now they're trying to course correct and bring her back to her writing roots.

Seany McBuckets

I love the purple lightning. Earth 3 Iris?

I Am Groot

YES! To me, she's just squeezed into the story. Everybody else has an irreplaceable role on the Team but Iris is really just Barry's love interest and the Lois Lane stuff was always the most boring part of Superman. Give Iris a power. Hell, make her a weaker Speedster and have her and Barry's dynamic change up a little. Fans will be annoyed at first but it will ultimately make her a stronger character in the long-run.

Steddy

Yeah I was thinking that the whole time too lol

Chris Royer

I need more of that purple lightning.

Fajen Thygia

*Harry puts on thinking cap* uh make killer frost put out the fire

Roberto Cerrillo

We need to have normal people on the team to balance it out. Can’t have too many Supers or it just feels like there should never be a threat. (Side note: About Cisco and Caitlyn not doing anything, I believe Iris told them to be “on point” which means to be ready for action, so she basically said be on standby. I may be wrong, might want to double check later to not look like a total idiot.)

Dark Aeolus

While it was cool to see I think enough people have powers on this show. That said I’m looking forward to season 5 when Joe gets super speed for some reason. Also could Jay Garrick’s new protege be Earth-3 Iris?

TB

I liked the episode and had no problem with how they gave her powers, but I feel like it doesn't need to happen again. The only way to do it would be just how they did, and I don't want to watch the same episode again

Tucker Lobner

Meh I mean I wouldn't be upset if it happened again, but it isn't something I particularly want

Roberto Cerrillo

To be fair, if you're in a world without superpowers, then you wouldn't even have the superpower to take powers. His power is probably the best in terms of incapacitating someone.

Ian Vega

I think Iris put it perfectly, she doesn’t give everyone the light and hope that they deserve so she shouldn’t be a speedster again. I know that’s dark but that’s paraphrasing what she said.

M. Casarico

Not related to the question but can we just acknowledge that Iris gave advice from the season when she walked straight up to a guy with a gun aimed at her?

Cat_Sidhe

No because they need to keep her character some what close to the comics I dont really like her as the leader right now she should go back to reporting

Matthew

I think this one time is all I need from her with powers, unless she gets her own without anyone else sacrificing theirs. It seems as if it was a one off anyway to get her back into writing

Andrew Courtney

We need to keep Team Flash balanced. It adds for a better dynamic and can make for a more complex relationship when only one partner has powers. I like Iris being powerful, without needing powers. She’s always been brave and has become an amazing leader for team Flash. I’d rather see that flourish even more

Austin Bryant

No, they said she is leader that is all she gets.

Daniel Patterson

No thanks, I want my reporter, only slightly annoying Iris back.

Blackest Hippy

Not consistently, but I'm game for any chance to write a change of pace story.

Sam K

I think it’s more balanced if Iris doesn’t have powers, from a narrative standpoint. It was a fun “what if” episode but I’m glad it didn’t continue. I hope Iris goes back to being an investigative journalist.

Able

It would be ok

Cat_Sidhe

I have a feeling Harry is going to start writing these speed force symbols if he keeps tinkering with that thinking cap

I don't really not want her to have powers again, but I'm not hoping for it. I wouldn't hate it. As long as there's a good reason for it.

Ian Vega

It was cool for this episode and all, but for me it has to be it. I think the role Iris West plays is exactly the opposite, being the one without powers, inspiring Barry with her personality, her love and her ideas outside the box.
