"Kuvira's Gambit"

Legend of Korra 4x11 Reaction Early Access!

Comments

yeah I don't see these whiners making there own shows or anything.....

One would hope the Fire Lord would help out against the person if Kuvira tried to kill her own son

Skeletor

Agree. A new story with callbacks to the show. Introduce the Avatar world to new audiences and hit the Aang and Korra fans with nostalgia.

Anonamai

still salty we never got to see Kuvira her backstory (which would have been the Clipshow ep if Nickelodeon hadnt slashed the budget

Rebel Pilot

if so it would need its own story and not a remake of one in the series, it just doesnt translate well you cant put +4hours in a movie

Rebel Pilot

I just ignore everything he says and it made watching these reactions twice as enjoyable.

Bryce Nielsen

Oh well. Psychic bloodblending, UnaVaatu, flying anarchists, spririt-lasers. Throwing in one more retarded thing at the end of it all doesn't hurt that much.

stzz33

With the finale so close it feels like this entire reaction series is wrapping up nicely. Still wish there was a live action show or even a movie franchise. I think Taika Waititi would be my pick for director.

Anonamai

They did hint, but only barely, with "begin dismantling the domes". Only noticed it on a rewatch, maybe they would have put a better hint in the Kuvira episode they allegedly had planned before the budget cut forced them to make Remembrances instead.

Eric Smith

I think they already have some suspicions.

Mintteacup

While a tank may have been more realistic we wouldn't have gotten one of the most kickass action sequences ever if they chose that route. This is a show with giant panda spirits and weapons powered by shrubbery, so I'm forgiving of a giant mech suit. Though I do wish they hinted that Kuvira was building some secret thing in a previous episode, but it's a small gripe.

Adam Vialpando

You are my friggin hero. It seems like all people want to do is complain. They complain that the last scene came out of nowhere and was done for political reasons, which is just proof they don't really watch the show. They complain about book 2. They complain about Kuvira. Korra is an awesome show and in my opinion all the great things definitely outweigh the small things people like to bitch about, freaking whiners. They claim it's some anti-man feminist show. I didn't realize having a show with lots of strong and deep females in starring roles is so bad. Or that this show is forcing some kind of agenda. Having a bisexual couple is not part of some agenda, it's a logical conclusion to a plotline started at the beginning of book 3. All this whining just makes me want to wring these people's necks. And don't worry, I lost my uncle a few months ago and understand if your temper is a little short.

Adam Vialpando

It wasn't a twist it was building up since book 3. I don't see how anyone can't see all the obvious signs. By the end of book 3 I was pretty convinced about the final pairing. If you didn't like this episode or season fine, we can agree to disagree. But don't act like this came out of left field or that the writers did it for political reasons. It just made sense.

Adam Vialpando

Personally I wish they used a different way to transport the superweapon such as creating a tank or something similar to the drill. A giant mech just seemed unrealistic especially considering it was never shown how it was built

NorthernBro

In advance, can we let them know that what they see in the final frames of the series, is what they think it is? 😂😊

I’m always happy when you guys say that you didn’t take notes because it shows how much you guys are enjoying the show. I can’t believe there are only two more episodes left of the entire series!

Alex Azarm

Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!....It's a mover just enjoy the ride!

Yah ... I mean, comon, it's a "kid" show, what do you expect. Hopefully they watch AoT next, it should satisfy him!

Alexandre Boutin

Honest criticism is totally fine, but I feel like sometimes people like to bitch about Korra just to bitch and have an opinion. If you have something constructive to say about the show, by all means, speak it. If you are just going to whine and complain, please at least stfu and see yourself out of these videos. Constructive-criticism is ok (even though some rubes think they are somehow above this show and give it way too much criticism) Overly-whiny complaints serve no purpose. I apologize for being so fiery, but having lost multiple family members in the past 3 months, and seeing all the crap the Korra team had to deal with and they still managed to out out a great show, I guess I'm in the mind that people should just f***ing enjoy something for what it is.

Goddamn, Shane. Killing people is not always the answer.

Subaru130

Ha! You guys focus way too much on the logistics sometimes. lol

Chris Skalicky

That last scene made the final season that i was already not enjoying even worse. The whole "plot twist we are both bi-sexual" was just the worst, it was bad absolutely. Whether you were for it or not it was horrible writing and only done by the writers to make a political statement. There are other cartoons that have done gay characters or the reveal of them much better. Adventure Time, Bojack Horseman, and Steven Universe to name some.

Kaleb

It seems extreme to say they just don’t like LoK at all. They probably don’t like it as much as the original series (which I think they mentioned and were pretty open about) but overall they have been more positive than negative on the series, especially compared to other people. Of course Eric seems to go back and forth on both liking that LoK advances in technology and society and not wanting too much change, but I think that is a common occurrence. People both want change and not liking change as much. If they didn’t like it they would be upfront about it like they were on disliking Azula and Korra’s attitude problem in season 2.

Jjop017

Also how far in advance are they filming these? cause for the Finale they should really read the Statemeant by one of the Directors he made after they have seen the episode. (After not before, cause its a beautiful thing that ties up nicely with stuff. ) Just search "bryan konietzko statement" and it should be the first item: Beware this is a spoiler and you should only search it after you all seen the ep.

Rebel Pilot

she had always planned to take the U.R.N the map was in full display in the first episode.

Luis Benavides

lol, tbh if the Native nations were to kick USA ass with a SuperSpiritweapon to get their land back I would be like. Yeah I am rooting for the Natives. USA would deserve that asswhoping 100%. XD But seriously: I feel like the next episode you will love soooo much. Probably the Best action in Korra.

Rebel Pilot

The end is near! It's been so cool so far guys I have been watching the show along with you guys. I really like this show just something prevents me from loving it as much as others. I'm not quite sure why. Great content can't wait till the end I don't really love the ending but it is still good for what it set out to do.

Megan Linart

So, why are you still here?

Jay M

The hint of the land ownership was put out there with the Earth Queen and many would wonder how many thought this was still Earth Kingdom land. For another the weapon is the weapon and she was driven through technology. It is very obvious that you guys don't like The Legend of Korra and it has been painful watching your guys last few reactions. I became a patron because I loved you ATLA bender reaction and I have simply don't feel the same here. I wanted to hold off till the end but I don't think you guys will do the finale justice. Look how much time they had to tell a story 13 per season or less. Michael and Bryan did an amazing job cramming in equality, spirituality, freedom with anarchy and stability through dictatorship. I am glad that you guys had your own opinion but your energy and non willing to learn the story lines is pathetic especially if you want viewers. I don't see anything else that you guys do that would make me stay a patron but I always have youtube to watch you ATLA reaction.

Now you begin to see why so many of us thought Korra was a stain on The Last Airbender

GoldArthur

tumblr is awful so thats easy to stay away from :P

TbcAlex

Same here. I remember when this first cane out a lot of people were upset over the giant mech to the point where it ruined the finale for them. Glad to see as time went on more people started to like the finale.

Jjop017

Just go with it, you won’t be disappointed.

Liam Skoda

The giant suit does bother me a bit. In a way it makes sense because of the smaller suits though. It is nowhere near enough for me to not like the final episodes though. I really like kuvira as a villain because she is not necessarily a bad person. She legitimately does care about the earth empire and bataar jr she is just going too far with it.

A reason I could see why they went with giant mech was to make a threat level that can match the Avatar. Even with the Avatar State Korra just can’t easily overcome that thing. It is a threat to her and requires everyone to be involved. It is an upscale version of the mechs they established in season 1. They probably felt they could get away with it.

Jjop017

Also, a little history. Kuvira is like most dictators, just minus the genocide. When Germany was on the advance they kept asking for more territory, and they kept giving it to them until they had the power to just take.

Noah Burke

Shane: “Just slit his throat” 😂😭

Juniper

When it comes to technology, the main problem is typically energy. In Avatar, they have spirit energy and lightning bending for unlimited energy.

Noah Burke

How difficult was it to keep yourself away from tumblr and twitter in order not to spoil what happened in the final 2 episodes.

Anon1234

Please do the final 2 back to back next week, it was how it was originally aired and you'll get more out of it.

Anon1234

can't believe it's almost over! been a pleasure watching with you gents!

no spoilers but as soon as you finish the series you guys should read The Legend Of Korra: Turf Wars which takes place immediately after the series and was written by the creators of both avatar and korra because the last scene of the finale means exactly what you think it means

that thing looked like big-o
