I always forget about the accent the American President has and so it always causes me to burst out laughing when I hear that speech. I'm glad to hear Calvin's thoughts on that final moment between Light and his dad. I wish in that Light would have just been his son and put the deathnote away. :/ Been there for his Dad. But I am so happy that at the very least, Soichiro died with no regrets or lingering fears of Light being Kira... At that moment at least, Light wasn't Kira - so it really wasn't a lie 'technically'. Great reaction guys! Catch y'all next week!

With task force’s reasoning is method for enforcing justice is as important as the results. Having one person judge, jury, and executioner without trial than essentially holding the rest of the world hostage gets results, but they feel the methods are or make Kira just as bad as the criminals he kills. He answers to no one and can essentially use or abuse his power with no consequences. That is breaking the law, but in Kira’s world Kira is the sole person above the law. He can kill law enforcement for attempting to enforce the laws society created by trying to arrest Kira for murdering people. He essentially murders innocent people and argues the results he gets outweigh the innocent lives he killed. As we saw in this episode he can use the fear of death to force world leaders to enforce his will. That doesn’t go into how Kira will kill someone who publicly criticized him or his methods as we saw with L’s introduction episode. For the police on the task force the fear Kira inspires is no different from say a dictator who use fear to achieve a peace that benefits them. Granted Light doesn’t intend to harm innocent people to benefit himself, but he take a sadistic joy in killing people who oppose him and answers to no one but himself. To the task force the price for the results are too high. At least that is why they argue fear based peace of death for any crime is different from the fear of consequences like imprisonment or a death penalty after a trial.
