Avatar TLA 3x8 "The Puppetmaster" Reaction Early Access!

Oh man this episode is so amazing and could be considered 1 of the best episodes. I love the development it had for Katara and how like other seasons shows that it's not just people from the Fire nation who can be and do evil. The suspense and creepiness was extremely well done in this episode especially towards the end. I loved seeing what happened to the Southern Water tribe in the past and what turned Hama into well… A monster. It just goes to show what hatred can do to someone. Although it's not surprising after what happened to her. It doesn't make it right but it definitely explains it. The best thing about Blood bending is how if you know the basics about the human body you can guess it exists in the universe of Avatar. I really love all the different ways Hama showed Katara how to use Water bending because they are really clever. Seeing 2 master Water benders fighting is honestly still 1 of the best fights arguably in the entire show. The ending as well as Blood bending itself is super dark and chilling. I think even if you used it only for good Blood bending would always be wrong because of how invasive it is. And like you said it must be horrible for someone like Katara or honestly any decent person really. Hama is the 2nd most horrific thing in the show with the Dai- Li being the 3rd. I'm curious about how you'll react to the most horrific thing in the show. The character development for Katara is great because it shows once again how powerful she is and how strong her morality is. This episode also shows what Katara would be like if she was evil. Great reaction as always and I can't wait to see more of your reactions. :-) <3

Supermonaman

my favorite

Hasani Houston

o god nightmares and daydreams is next.. *shudders*

Next episode is so effin weird lmao xD

Matthew

What spoiler?

GlamdringandOrcrist

Never understand why people spoil stuff. Please delete this.

Nicholas Roca

Wow, not even trying to contain spoilers. Good job some of you >_>

Thilde

Spoilers for Korra you guys c'mon.

Noah Hoorn

Blood bending, the worst bending ever.

GlamdringandOrcrist

I guess all is fair in war, but the sinister thing about bloodbending is that it takes consent away from the person. Effective in a fight, but also easily abused. I personally don't condone its use.

Jude Miller

Considering the spiritual lore of the Avatar universe, I think there is a life-force which holds the water in blood. The technique requires the power of a full moon more to overcome another's will than it is just a chemical separation of water from the blood in my interpretation.

007

Great episode. I thought blood bending was introduced in Korra not Avatar. Nice surprise since I haven't watched this in a while

Juniper

I honestly can't wait for the Southern Raiders episode....

Heather Williams

it would be nice but no i think not, they might do it for the final episodes

larsa valeth

now i give a question if we saw no episode of fire nation cilvians or good fire nation people and only bad things they did. then suddenly get this episode i wonder if you still think what Hama was doing wrong or if you would agree with hama and think they got what they diserve. me i think it was still wrong for the simple reason of control someone like that.

larsa valeth

Personally I love Hama, I always imagined that after the episode ended she managed to escape yet again with her blood bending, and mysteriously disappeared to enact some other revenge. Also its amazing to think that Hama lived at the same time Katara's grandmother was there too, from going back to that part in the episode, you can kind of see Hama's friend had the same braids as Katara & Kataras mother, made me imagine it could be Kataras grandmother, and that how after all those years Hama spent on her own she finally finds someone that not only is from the Southern Water Tribe, but a relative of her friend. Also its so hype to see Katara fight another master water bender in this way. :D

Just watch Korra after this, REALLY watch it *wink wink*

Rt

You guys really should react to Legend of Korra after finishing this up, a lot of questions are answered about the lore and what can be done as far as bending possibilities.

Ghost

i love this - well said

Karston James

dude same but spoilers

Karston James

Sure do hope they do Korra cause I'll miss there reactions in this world of the avatars. Season 1s Villain was still my favorite one out of the 4 Korra seasons. He was my favorite Korra villain.

Skeletor

You know the woman who voiced Hama does a whole lot of voices in The Simpsons as well?

Gregory Jackson

Been waiting for this reaction ever since Eric mentioned blood and water in the body.

Cat_Sidhe

Yeah since like episode 1, we have all been waiting for Eric to find out about bloodletting. I'm glad stuff like this hasn't been spoiled for them.

Brendan Horn

I'm not sure if they could rip the liquid from someone's body, maybe they could but it always seemed

Voreni

Loved it! Definitely worth the wait. Thank guys

Eric took Blood Bending and made 10x more violent and disturbing.

WhateverIFeelLike

Blood bending is super sick and OP, which is why they make it "don't use it because it's too evil" like it would totally banned like from this world's version of the Geneva convention.

Zeemod

(Yay, one of my favorites!) I'm surprised you guys didn't talk about the Hama = Katara parallel, and the implications it has for future episodes: that Hama is Katara's future if they should FAIL. The Southern Water tribe has been all-but wiped out, and Hama is a POW living in enemy territory, unable to return home. By all rights and reasoning, she should be the "good guy"...but then of course, she's revealed to be twisted and turned into a monster by her rage and hatred of her captors, taking it out on innocent civilians. Ethics/gray-on-gray morality is wonderfully in play here - should you ever use such an invasive technique, who deserves it, who doesn't, and most importantly, if you demonize your enemy as an excuse to enact such harm, then what does that make YOU? ;) If The Aang-gang fails to stop the Firelord, Katara may ultimately become her, if only to just survive, and abandon all morality and sense of right. Is it worth becoming a monster? (And presumably, Hama is headed for a fate worse than death - but is that something she deserves?) These are all great, thought-provoking questions raised by a supposedly kids/family-friendly show. Gah, I love it. <3

Sky Sirak

Do you know if they're doing both 10 and 11 at the same time? Recording, and releasing?

Noah Hoorn

Worth

Noah Hoorn

true but thier is no harm in imaging what is posible and remember korra wasn't aired aired on tv (i think) cause the producers thought it slightly more darker and that it taylored to a slightly older group

larsa valeth

such a great episode! and a creepy one at that

Coogman3

sucks we have to wait 3 days in between episodes 10 and 11

its an interesting theory but i think it is a different style of bending to me, it certainly requires a lot of focus. its almost like he compressing the fire or energy on itself and when he breaths in he compressing as tightly as he can and breathing out it starts to break the compresion cause the explosion and the focus is need to know exactly where you need it to explode . it just a theory and i don't entirely understand it myself. all i know is that it needs a lot of focus more than any of the other fire bending styles

larsa valeth

Remember , it's a kid show, I doubt they will do some of these horrific things xD

Alexandre Boutin

thier are plenty i want them to react to this is a good volume easily one of favs cause you are seeing the the other side of the fire nation. it is sort of like the fire nation itself is refecting zuko himself at times, the conflict within

larsa valeth

Great way to close out the night.

Cultured Degenerate

I believe combustion man takes the premise of separating the two energy's for lightning bending but doesn't allow them to converge at release, instead he propels them away with fire bending and has them converge in mid air.

they might do it i hope they do

larsa valeth

i love their speculation at the end, i cant wait for them to watch Korra

Aundre Rogers

combustion man can fire bend, but it is how he was trained to fire bend has lead to combustion effect, i do beat he cant lighting bend. its the same with azular? she has been trained a certain way to lead lighting bending she might not be able to combuste bend. Its the same with toph her earth bending style is different and her own you can see it when you put she side by side with a earth bender, she is a master in her style which has lead to metal bending (plus being blind help her discover it) but she might not be able other styles. this is certainly the same with water and air bending i think. this is all a guess work to me i could be wrong and i am basing this on what i have seen

larsa valeth

I can't wait for them to get to the Other 'Dance' episode this season *Wink* lol

Eric Keatts

Like the dumbass that I am, I opened this up in youtube and when it got to the credits and it said the next episodes out i clicked back to discover oh yeah! That was the new episode lol

Is it weird that I get all excited whenever one of them picks up my boomerang
