I think I know what episode your referring to, no matter which series it is in, that arc in particular it's pretty disturbing. Unfortunately when it comes to the original we got to know the characters involved and one set episode arrived it was such a shock. interesting fact is that the original creator did this on purpose because she was getting so many emails on how people wished alchemy was real so she wanted to show the consequences of powers like that existing.

But they edit the reaction videos to cut out parts a) Because their reactions may not be that great or entertaining and b) Because the owner of the FMA IP would probably take exception to them uploading the entire episode to Youtube, even in a small box. That's how you get take downs.

2017-02-19 22:07:10 +0000 UTCI disagree in brotherhood every character was given depth and was important including the side characters. The first fullmetal left too many loose ends. Some characters stories were left in the air and some characters only existed to introduce concepts. The first fullmetal was less focused on telling a story and more focused on shock value and it suffered because of that. Also the first fullmetal could never give the story justice because it is its own original story and does not follow the manga.

2017-02-19 18:19:36 +0000 UTCthe situation in the FMA world is sort of the opposite of what happened in Harry Potter. alchemy is established an inherently scientific art, no matter how shiny and magical it looks, and the world was able to progress much quicker towards that end. so maybe psychology could be a thing? god knows these kids deserve it

2017-02-19 17:34:53 +0000 UTCThere's actually a reference to this show in the first ep of RWBY in Vol. 1, on the bookshelves behind RWBY in the store, there was a magazine with TRUTH on it with that white character on it. Also if you haven't figured it out, alchemy is all based on science. A bit of a spoiler for the first FMA: In the other version of FMA (the first anime) the story got to a point where it's revealed this world is a parallel version of ours that instead of steam technology advancing and alchemy was forgotten, it's the opposite.
