Well, it fits here, where the main villains are called "the light". Shadows are cast by the light, it allows them to make a lot of puns they wouldn't otherwise be able to make.

2017-03-05 22:37:20 +0000 UTCThe "correct" pronunciation, the Arabic, is Ray-sh, like they pronounce it in YJ. At least, that was the intended pronunciation by the original writers. But, Arabic is a language with many different dialects, so, it's very easy to get it wrong. You have the Rass or Ross, mispronounced names that you get when an English speaking person sees the name written without any idea that it's meant to be Arabic, then there's Rah-z, which is one dialect of Arabic, and the correct Ray-sh. But it's been used wrong so often that it doesn't even matter anymore. I mean, all four of those were used interchangeably in Arrow, only John Barrowman (Merlyn) pronounced it right consistently, and only because he's a giant nerd outside of character.

2017-03-05 21:08:03 +0000 UTCOh and just as an FYI, the teacher at that school is Snapper Carr, who in the comics has worked with the Justice League on numerous occasions and was a reporter in the animated Justice League cartoon. The two African American students are Mal Duncan and Karen Beecher.

2017-03-05 20:58:06 +0000 UTCJust as an FYI, the Shadows is the same thing as the League of Shadows, which is the same thing as the League of Assassins. Considering Ra's Al Ghul is a member of the Light, this means the League of Shadows is also part of the Light's organization.
