I also like we aren’t told why Davos dad stopped the fight. It leaves room open to interpret. Personally I think it is a combination of reasons for why the fight was called. The obvious reason is the man knew his son wouldn’t yield and didn’t want Danny to have to kill Davos. Another reason is that I think Danny impressed him with his plan. It showed he can fight well, but also use his surroundings and completely fooled Davos. One thing noted was Davos showed a lot of anger during the fight, like even more than we saw season 1 Danny who was prone to anger. I don’t think he liked what he saw in Davos and felt getting the Fist would be bad for him. This episode shows Davos has a very dangerous black and white view of the world. That allows him to kill anyone he seems as bad without hesitation thus he can kill a woman he views as corrupt when killing her is worse than Joy’s suggestion of merely seducing her. People like that are very dangerous. For all Danny’s faults he was never murder first type of man.

I can see why Davos would think he deserves the Iron Fist from that, I mean he was the better fighter, he was stronger and more relentless. Danny on the other hand, he was patient, took the beating in order to use the bright light of the sun to daze his enemy. On the surface it looks like Davos should win but Danny shows that he can fight using his surroundings and his mind too. So I'm throwing my chip in Danny's corner for this one. I love the acting from Davos when Danny wins, like one look in his eyes and you can see the pain as everything he's ever worked for is ripped away from him.

Just an add on: In season 1, Danny referred to Davos' father as Master Lei Kung the Thunderer when speaking to Colleen about being beaten with a practice sword.
