2019-03-15 07:18:36 +0000 UTCi have to agree with that assertion haha i think Clara gets wayy too much hate and ignore the fantastic characterisations Moffat did for her character gets ignored. I always found her story to be quite tragic, but hopeful.

2019-03-14 19:04:02 +0000 UTCImagine disliking Clara so much you have to comment the same thing about her every reaction because you want others (including, eventually, BW) to agree with you so you feel validated. It’s the same kind of comments that persisted when it went from 10 to 11 and RTD to Moffat. Meanwhile Eric and Shane have never been so enamored with a companion, they love 11, and seem to prefer Moffat’s era over RTD’s. Hope all those people feel extra salty about it. Anyway, good ep and good discussion. I’m getting that weird feeling where I’m sad for them for having to say goodbye to 11 soon, whom they like so much, but also excited for them to react to seasons 8-9 because they are my favorite.

2019-03-14 15:46:51 +0000 UTCOne of the TIme Lord's major roles in the universe, aside from maintenance of the Web of Time, was stopping other races from becoming time-sensitive and challenge their supremacy, the Daleks mastered it during the War in Heaven during the Eighth Doctor Novels, which allowed them to challenge the Time Lords on an equal footing when Gallifrey and the Time Lords returned to the universe. After both were wiped out, other races, most notably humanity began to gain proficiency at time travel, although no races would ever be as time-powerful as the Daleks, and the Daleks pale to the Time Lords temporal-science wise, though they more or less match them in all other areas. The Eye of Harmony proper was located beneath the Panoipticon in the Citadel on Gallifrey, it's a dimensionally manipulated detonated star, Qqaba, that powers all Gallifreyan temporal technology, eventually, TARDIS models (including the Doctor's Type 40) were outfitted with a portion of Qqaba, each of which is also called an Eye of Harmony, this is what the Master fell into in the movie, and he was tryign to use it's power to strip the Doctor's 5 remaining regenerations from him.

2019-03-14 01:34:32 +0000 UTCI love most of the companions for various reasons but you make a good point. I just don't understand people who claim to love a show who pre-plan to hate something. You aren't required to love everything about a show to be able to say you love it, but it just feels hypocritical to be bitching about someone before they even start like many did with various companions and new Doctor incarnations.

2019-03-14 01:03:38 +0000 UTCHonestly, I’m almost certain that people hate Clara because she’s the most important companion the Doctor ever had. He chose this particular Tardis because of her. I mean River Song was his wife, but he never waited billions of years or killed anyone for her. I don’t mind that they did this, but people are probably mad that their favorites aren’t that important. That’s why I love Amy so much. She was truly friends with the doctor without being some all important companion. She just understood and supported the doctor. I can get why you don’t like Donna. Hell, Blind wave themselves don’t care for her lol. I love flawed and relatable characters. That is why Donna is my forever fave. She’s honestly the most relatable companion. Everyone can feel small, insignificant and not good enough. I do get the dislike for her. She can be loud and annoying.

The Same with Bill, I love her character but everyone hates her without giving a valid reason. I can see what you mean about Donna, even though I grew to like her in the end.

I'm so glad you guys enjoy her, and even when you don't like characters, that you stay positive and polite about it, rather than declaring that everyone should dislike/hate a character just because you do. (Me personally, I can't STAND Donna and that one has gotten me flamed up and down in the past)
