Doctor Who Docu-drama

An Adventure in Space and Time Reaction Early Access!

Comments

There were former companions of Hartnell in the background of the Verity leaving party scene- Jean Marsh (uncredited cameo) Anneke Wills (uncredited cameo) Donald Tosh (Script Editor/Producer uncredited cameo). William Russell (the real Ian) was the Security Guard, Harry, at the beginning. The Bartender was Toby Hadoke, a noted Doctor Who interviewer. Carole Anne Ford (the real Susan was "Joyce").

I've seen this before but I am still tearing up at Matt Smith's scene.

Sandro Sliske

near the start of this film, there's a cameo from one of the first companions (the actor who played ian ) as a security guard (based on a real person).. nice little nod there.

little known fact the day Kennedy died was the same day CS Lewis died

it's easy to make that mistake there is not sarcasm button ( I guess I could use an emoji) and so many people actually exhibit this behavior than me mocking it probably should have been more satirical. I think the misunderstanding is all part of the same complex issue, we have lost faith in one anothers ability to "understand". or he could have been just as fed up with it as I was and tried to handle what I was dealing with another way. the whole Same side different reaction thing.......as 4 would say...."Who knows".......Who nose?

o

That's a shame, it's part of the 50th celebrations and is full of some great cameos & moments....but do agree it has to come after "Day" if they ever did.

Reading mustn't be his strong suit....

Justin H'oman

Thanks for the clarification. I thought he put fivish because one of them wasn't in the five doctors much 😂

Plus it would have spoiled Tennant's return as 10.

Ashley Jamieson

that was the joke

o

It’s packed with in jokes from Classic Who that they wouldn’t get.

Spiderfrommars

Could you guys react to Season 1 episode 1 "Rose"? I just really wanted to make sure that I was able to give you my opinion on something that you have already done. Enjoy StarWars weekend

o

Five-ish Doctors is a different thing. And also no they are not watching it.

EDITRON

Ethan wyles - No, not the Five Doctors, the Five-ish Doctors. It was a video made by several of the classic Doctors in honor of the 50th anniversary about trying to get themselves included in the Day of the Doctor

Jeanette C

They have already seen the five doctors

BluRay I think

TbcAlex

Really hope they check the Five-Ish Doctors after Day !

Its a bit of an artform to get used, but if you are having problems with the audio, watch the Amazon prime video, and double click the video about every 9 seconds.

Greg Schuster

10 millions views was 1/5th of the population of the UK in 1963.

Paul Richardson

Where did you watch this? cant seem to sync to the Full length video

Paul Richardson

I hope you guys watch the Five(ish) Doctors! Its a super fun watch and brings back a few familiar faces! Probably best to watch it after the 50th though, I think it spoils a few things from the episode.

LitLThomas

I am crying so fucking much!...

Hilding

TFW Matt Smith shows up on screen, in the words of Sesskasays: "That sucker punched me right in the feels." This was a fantastic reaction.

Opti_Frog

I love the cameos in this. The guard at the beginning who says "This is not the way we do things at the BBC" is the actor who played the real Ian Chesterton. The woman who goes out screaming for her kids because their tea is getting cold is the real Susan Foreman. Also at Verities party there's some other familiar faces in the crowd. Awesome, beautifully written and beautifully acted docudrama.

The Doctor

My favorite Gatiss-written piece for Dr Who, and it’s not even an episode. Very well done!

Firefly24601

And I believe Carol Anne Ford (who played Susan) is the woman out shouting for her child to come inside.

can anyone tell wich copy of this should i watch please. so i dont fall behind on full length

Eric hiding in his shirt. Love this Documentary. Such a heartfelt piece of film

Nathan Oneill

That "General" as Eric puts it, who is demanding to see Sydney's security pass is actually William Russell, The original actor who played Ian Chesterton The Doctor's first male companion. what a great little cameo.

Nick Crate

Sydney Newman was Canadian.

Scribbles

I am saving my comment for later........

So glad you guys watched this! About the granddaughter, I'm a HUGE 1st doctor fan and I actually watched all the episodes (even the stills image ones since the original doesn't exist anymore). There's the arc of "Daleks invasion of Earth" I believe, that they go to kind of an alternative Earth, where the Daleks invaded Earth. By the end of this arc Susan falls in love with one of the humans and decides to stay with him there. And if I'm not mistaken, the speech you can hear hartnell saying at the end of the documentary is the speech he gives to his granddaughter after he accepts her decision and leaves her there. One of the best speeches of Doctor Who in my opinion. And YES, Bradley saying "I don't wanna go" like Tennant is some UNFAIR. Tennant ruined that phrase for me. For life.

Juliane Ivanow

After such a short time, Eric is such a fan!

Andrew W

lmao Shane that was such a good prediction about Matt being at the end haha

KieranT

Other sci series or movies like do contain some love and emotion but being over 50 years old now nothing gets you going like doctor who. Even this documentary type shows so much of it. :)

Alan Collings

Night on Monday, Last Day on Tuesday, DotD on Wednesday

TbcAlex

I’m guessing there gonna be watching Night if the Doctor and the other mini episode on Gallifrey. Then the 50th on Wednesday.

Thomas Newell

So Night of the Doctor on Tuesday and Day of the Doctor on Wednesday, ahhh so much hype
