don't suppose you might ever watch "The Five-ish Doctors"? made specifically for the 50th Anniversary? a short film featuring the remaining living actors that played the Doctor trying to hijack the production of the 50th anniversary so they can be in it - has a TONNE of guest stars i know you will all recognise

Eccleston narrated a BBC Two documentary series that autumn, did various radio jobs on the BBC from 2006 and starred in the "Lennon Naked" drama on BBC Four in 2010, so the "12 years" thing is clearly absolute bobbins.

great reaction guys. ever since you started doctor who been waiting two years from tomorrow i believe for this reaction hahaha! and with Eccleston he got blacklisted from the BBC for 12 years as he signed a 2-3 series contract and he left during the first series as he didn't get along with one of the main cast members. he went to america and did movies, TV shows and a few shows for ITV over here in Britain. He came back to the BBC in 2018 for a show and a few theatre stuff since. a year or so ago he looked back on his time on Doctor who and enjoyed it and wished he did more, but wasn't in the 50th as that was during the time he was blacklisted. That's the story of Eccleston. keep up the great work guys, im a big fan :)

Adventures in Space in Time aired November 21st. The Night of The Doctor was released on the Internet on November 14th, 2013.

Reacting to it before would have spoilt the return of Tennant. But I heard they're not going to react to it, which is a really big shame. Easily one of the best things Doctor Who ever put out.

The thing you have to remember about the opening credits is the context in which this was originally made and shown. Hardly *anyone* was going into this blind at the time - this was a massive, hugely-publicised event, the No. 1 most-watched programme on all British television that week, and the returns of Tennant and Piper were a major part of the publicity for that. It's a bit like asking, "Why did they put Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford on the poster for The Force Awakens?"

Day of the Doctor was the first episode I watched when it actually aired, I had binged most of New Who in about 2/3 weeks over the summer leading up to it. So special. And now next week, sadness 😭

Just thought you should know, the shot of the policeman walking in black and white at the beginning is the same as the first ever episode in 1963.

I don't think 11 and 12 interacted, but I think 12 remembered the general's line and knew he was supposed to be there. And it's assumed in Deep Breath when he leaves and comes back, that's where he went.

I'm assuming any doubts of 11 or 12 not remembering due to crossed time streams can be resolved with the fact Clara was there so she can just tell him it happened.

In America, most tunnels have big signs at the entrances "Stay In Lane." Otherwise a single solid white line (as seen in the tunnel in the episode) "is intended to discourage, but not prohibit you from changing lanes." Of course the laws could certainly be different in the UK, just going based on what Calvin would have seen in the US.

Watching this on the website, it's going sooooo much faster than my DVD. So even when I get it synced up, they drop out of sync really quickly. Anyone know how to fix that? Do I have to watch the Blu-Ray version, or the streaming version?

I would love for people to weigh in on this. I always thought that the reason that the moment chose that form (Rose/BadWolf) was because of what Rose did as "BadWolf Girl" scattering her essence across all time and space as a clue and that was what allowed them to enter what was supposed to be "TimeLocked"

I was kind of hoping that among the episode trivia you'd mention that the week after this aired on TV (or the week of?) it was shown in theaters in 3D. Mostly for those paintings which had amazing 3D effects. But more importantly, the theatrical release had an introduction by Strax warning the puny humans of earth to disable their communication devices, etc. That intro may be worth watching since I know you all love Strax. (Search for "Day of the Doctor theatrical intro" and you'll find it easily.)

Great!!!!!Have been refreshing half an hour. The fire quote is great. War should be an older 8th so Capaldi could be the proper 13th. And I would prefer if 11th was correcting a mistake rather than never have made one. But any problem I have cannot deny how great an achievement this episode is. I get hype everytime watching it. Hurt makes for a perfect encapsulation of the old who confronting the new who and I dare say it works better than simply having 9th there. I'm glad to see how emotional the guys got at times.
