I think Shane nailed the mark on the boredom thing. No matter what it is, if you see something constantly, you will eventually lose interest in it or at the very least not be amazed by it as much as you were in the past. Law of diminishing return in a sense.

the show does pick up by episode 3 and by episode 5 you'll be hooked and season 2 is on another level, definitely already anime of the year for me just for story alone

Funimation just announced that starting next week, the dub for season 2 will be starting! This means the crew can just jump right into the second season without having to take a break.

With the crush I think it is also that they spent a lot of time together so the telekinesis became common to her and just floating things over and over again got boring. It is not that the kid who ran would never get boring, but that he did something different and new for her and so she got excited. For kids that isn’t terribly uncommon either. Some never get bored seeing or doing the same things over while others do.

Calvin and Aaron don’t seem too into the show yet, and Rick seems open to it, but that’ll change in time. Glad Eric and Shane are digging it. The next episode is gonna be fantastic! Can’t wait. I hope the guys continue to catch the more emotional sub-beats of the story regarding Mob’s isolation.
