Mid-video update + Q&A + Poll: Mansion edition
Added 2025-04-25 19:53:39 +0000 UTCHello all, and welcome once again to the mid-video update -- that bit of monthly rambling text where I give some life and channel updates, talk about planned videos, make space for Q&As, and maybe occasionally more! And as for the former two... well, like I've said quite a bit, I'm gonna be going to Anime North 2025 next month! Which is both looking to be awesome and means that the video in June might come out later in the month. I'm gonna try and work on something smaller for that month, and get this on-going video project done as soon as I can, but nevertheless, it may come out a bit late. I really want to try and prioritize a chance to relax here, given how frankly exhausting and disasterous the first two and a half months of this year were, so I apologize in advance if there is any wait ahead.
That aside, things have been going smoothly on the channel end, with the Tsui no Sora video seeming to garner quite a bit of attention - not as much as Ai Mai Misuto's spectacular release (seriously, wow), but still quite a bit. So again, thank you everyone for your continued support, and especially to all those who've just joined the Patreon from it! <3
Now then, onto the videos...
May: Mugen Kairou... series. Yeah, so this was initially just going to be the first game, but given how short it is and how much the sequel adds, I can't resist doing both (actually three) in one go. Also it drove me absolutely mad, you cannot, CANNOT, CANNOT predict the shit the shit this game throws at you. I don't expect this to be a particularly long video as the games are about 75% pure absurdity and 25% pure genius, but it is a series I'm excited to cover. It is, in every sense, some peak Black Cyc. Scripting is currently in progress.
June: Once again, I'm hoping to cover something really short for this month. Suki Suki Daisuki, Sadistic Blood, and MOON. are all heavy contenders, as is Shuumatsu no Sugoshikata. The former three would be really nice since they're heavily requested games on THE LIST, but the very last looks comfy. It really all comes down to how much time and energy I have, because I am not quite sure all those games are even in terms of 'amount of things to talk about.'
July: Assuming everything gets back on track in June, I would love to take a crack at one of the more mid-length games on THE LIST. Sona-Nyl, Lupercalia, and Nie no Hakoniwa look especially neat to me right now!
THE LIST: Once again, I am totally open to hearing suggestions for things to cover! There is already... many years of things to cover here, but I enjoy hearing what people are interested in and sloooowly piecing my way through this. It really does help to have a big body of potential works to pull from, so I always have something to look into regardless of how much I can handle at any given time. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WF_2ADCa5UY63yygiElEyGr35UPCf-jfGivuHAeaiqs/edit?gid=0#gid=0
And finally, please feel free to leave questions for the Patreon segment below - and if you have asked any that weren't answered yet, please feel free to ask them again! Some have gotten lost to time or ADHD, so there's no problem with asking again. I do have to mention though that questions of "will you cover X specific game/series" generally do not get answered, because 99% of the time there isn't anything more to say than "yes" or "no." If you want to see a game covered, then suggest it and I'll stick it on the list if it's up my alley!
That's it for now! See y'all later o/

2025-05-28 15:25:40 +0000 UTCSuggestion for the list would be Kyojin-Tachi. It's an extremely surreal and messy denpa visual novel about love, technology and mental illness that is utterly enthralling despite how confusing and honestly iffy it can get sometimes. It also has murderous lesbians which is pretty neat. It feels like a mix between Boogiepop Phantom and maybe even a tiny bit Subahibi. Though most people say its more similar to Serial Experiments Lain.

2025-05-18 07:17:54 +0000 UTCFor The List, I'd highly recommend Hira Hira Hihiru! It's from BA-KU, about 10-12 hours long, and MAN does it have some beautiful, heartwrenching shit to say. I'd love to see how you find it, especially since it's still so niche!
