Welcome to Vyndurvoht, the dwarven book vault. Far in the highest reaches of the Vyndur mountains, a hollowed-out cloudshard spire protects the world from the most dangerous texts. Evil books are cared for by northern wardens, the noble dwarves who guard the books from the outside, and the outside from the books.

When we asked what you wanted for your next borough, you said a library city, a dwarven city, and a mesa city. We're giving you all three: the dwarven book butte of Vyndurvoht.

Borough Guide

Our first PDF (available to all of our wonderful patrons) introduces you to the fundamentals of life in the frigid mesa. Learn about the God-given duty to store books where they cannot fall into wicked hands. Discover the adorable and hard-working Sorters that manage the library. Aid or sabotage in the exodus of this treacherous home. Dwarven society is complicated, magic is dark and toxic, and threats abound from within and without. Borough Guide 01 also hones in on the noble honorvórn, an order of protectors who rappel down into the library and chaperone would-be villains.

Map

Unlike previous boroughs, Vyndurvoht is a decidedly vertical town. Instead of the maps working seamlessly side-by-side, they work seamlessly as one tall stack. Our first map is the top layer of that stack, the peak of the mesa in which they've built their town. Discover airship docks, the majestic Honor Hall, and the shaft leading down into the central hollow spire. A blizzard variant comes just in time for all of your winter adventures.

PLUS: HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! We are now releasing fully fleshed out interiors for our towns. That's right, every building is furnished. Travel seamlessly from the frigid cold to the inside of the buildings. No need to find tavern maps that roughly equate to the shape of the buildings on the exterior. Now you can more fully explore our cities from top to bottom.

We feel extremely lucky to have Matt of Fantasy Atlas working alongside James to bring our maps to life.

For this first release, every tier will get access to interior maps, but in the future, this reward will be limited to our Chief Courier patrons. If you were on the fence about upgrading, now is the time to do it!

Music

Will doesn't often engage in the sort of cinematic epic bombast that plagues Hollywood action movies these days... but sometimes, ya just gotta. "The Sixth Exodus" is that tune. Big ol' braaaamps, epic string ostinati, and intense bass licks bring the thrill of adventure to your Vyndurvoht quests. A combat variant focuses just on the biggest baddest parts, while a piano variant keeps things quiet but emotional.

5e Subclass

You all voted, and the majority speaks loudly. You want more D&D 5e content. With Vyndurvoht, we'll be bringing you three brand new subclasses to help you roleplay as the hardy Vyndur dwarves. First up is the Honorvórn fighter, a principled chaperone who protects books alongside their bonded Sorter companions.
