I just want to remind everyone (even though i'm sure you already know) that "The Originals", including Lola, were always the enemy. from the very beginning Commander Nova and the other Red Wings were meant to wipe out their "entire race". And by Entire I mean the very few numbers left from the village that Nova just burned down.
Commander Nova wholeheartedly loved Lola, but how could he cope with her betrayal in the middle of 1) the expectation that he is meant to kill her 2) the loss of his best friend. and 3) knowing that he just murdered her entire family.
I'm not saying that anything Commander Nova did was right. Genocide is not right. War is not right. But Goddammit if I don't feel sorry for him too.
Lola doesn't have the energy left to fight. Certainly not against him.
One or two pages left of this chapter.... probably just one...
