Added 2019-06-10 02:36:29 +0000 UTCI just want to remind everyone (even though i'm sure you already know) that "The Originals", including Lola, were always the enemy. from the very beginning Commander Nova and the other Red Wings were meant to wipe out their "entire race". And by Entire I mean the very few numbers left from the village that Nova just burned down.
Commander Nova wholeheartedly loved Lola, but how could he cope with her betrayal in the middle of 1) the expectation that he is meant to kill her 2) the loss of his best friend. and 3) knowing that he just murdered her entire family.
I'm not saying that anything Commander Nova did was right. Genocide is not right. War is not right. But Goddammit if I don't feel sorry for him too.
Lola doesn't have the energy left to fight. Certainly not against him.
One or two pages left of this chapter.... probably just one...

2019-06-10 03:53:42 +0000 UTCIts kind of funny you mention it. PB was never actually meant to be a story with an obvious antagonist. Youve got aliens and humans. You've got the way they react to one another. you've got war and genocide and reasonings for both sides of it. From the very beginning of this comic ive really WANTED to push the fact that there is no one true evil that needs to be stopped. No one (aside from Luca, who is the one kind of symbolic GOOD in this story) is completely innocent or to blame.

2019-06-10 03:20:06 +0000 UTCAh Lola, such a tragedy, being pulled apart by two opposing males, one her leader and one her lover, at first a seductive spy in the enemy camp and then a romantic partner. I wish she could have seen a way to broker peace, or worked as a double agent against the Originals (who seem to be the villains in this tale but do they take all the blame?). Perhaps she will be given a chance to end her life on her own terms, if it comes to that. Nova seems to have calmed. Sigh so sad all around :-(
