Sneak Peek: Nour's Ch 6 (1) & Ozara's Ch ??

SNEAK PEEK 1

"I … I …" you start but begin to panic, the words slipping past you each time you believe you have successfully reached them. You wrap your arms around yourself and look at Nour, expecting to find the same comfort you always have. Those golden eyes are the same, but it is you who have changed, and as you stare into them, you find no warmth.

"I am lost," you admit, shrugging. "I don't know who I am. Or who I was supposed to be. Everyone seems to have fate's help, but here I am, just trying my best to stay alive."

"You will figure that out," Nour exclaims, stepping closer, but you immediately recoil.

"Will I? Do you even believe yourself half the time?"

"Sometimes it feels like I am the only one who believes it, even though it is your life. Do you not wish to live? Or to save yourself? Whether you want to believe it or not, I am simply here to help."

You scowl and shake your head, "you are not the first to say that. And I assure you that the last person to say that has only cared to help herself."

"Look at me."

"No." The word comes out firmer than expected, and Nour seems to think the same. "I am done believing that anyone else can help me."

"What … what are you saying?"

SNEAK PEEK 2 

*Authors Note: Question marks because this is probably going to be in Chapter 5, just maybe 4 but I had to go ahead and write this and was like, yea, it'll make a good sneak peek.

When you finally come to, you expect to be greeted by nothing but darkness. No, honestly, you believed death would come to visit you early, but that has obviously not happened. Sitting up, you prepare to adjust your eyes to your new environment but find it unnecessary. The light from above illuminates most of the immediate surroundings. Rocky outcroppings make up the ceiling, but the ground is less cavern or cave and seems more like … that which was above. 

"My back!" Auri screams, grabbing your attention. You glance at the phaizarn in question to see him rolling back and forth, moaning dramatically. It takes some time before Rivenee finally kicks him, begging him to hush.

"Where are we?" she asks, and you wait for Ozara to answer.

"Seems like we fell," Auri replies.

"Seriously, Auri? Was it that obvious, or did you hit your head too hard?" 

"Riv. Please do not start with me. My back feels broken, and I … I can't shift," Auri tells all of you, Rivenee's eyes widening in terror.

"What do you mean you -"

"What do you mean, what do I mean? What did I just say? I said I can't shift. It's not that hard to follow along." Though you cannot be entirely sure, you believe Rivenee attempts to shift next, also failing. You focus on your own magic, doing what Ozara has directed you to do in the past and like them, you feel something block you. It is there, but that is about it. It is as if your magic is running straight into a wall, and though it attempts to seep through cracks, it will never be enough.

"So what now?"

"Now," Ozara voices, the first thing she has said since you have found yourself stuck here. "We find a way out of here. Keep your eyes open for basilisks. There is no way of knowing if they also fell down here." She gives one last glance at the top before walking, and you all move to follow.
