Congratulations on catching up to another recent anime! This one is full of epicness and makes me want to create a necromancer in DnD. 2025-04-24 00:19:16 +0000 UTCSadly, season 3 hasn’t been announced yet. I’m sure it’s coming, but it was initially only green-lit for 2 seasons. So, the earliest it will release would be 2027. But that’s plenty of time to make it look as good as S1&2.😌 The manhwa is complete! Yes, us manhwa readers know the ending.😉 If anything, that’s what I’m most curious to see animated. As much as I love Solo Leveling, I’m not a fan of the ending. Perhaps the anime can change my mind, give it a new spin or make it more appealing to me. And there’s a sequel/spin-off manhwa series, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. Lucia & I have talked a bit about it.😂 I will reserve my full opinions until I’m further along or finished, but for now it gives me lukewarm vibes. Just hasn’t captured me like the original, which is why I’m procrastinating on reading further. One last anime/manhwa change from my (long) list😅 comes from the Jeju Island raid. Jinwoo never used the Elixir of Life on Cha Hae-In. I have strong opinions about this change, but then I’m dipping into spoilers. He only has a limited number of the Elixir of Life. That’s all I’m saying for now.

It is a completed story but we still have a long way until the finale. Woohoo! Bun's Japanese corner: I've decided to go with the word for "shadow" this time. "Shadow" is a word that Jinwoo is constantly saying in the anime - it appears in the very name of his shadow army, in all of his skill names, some items etc. Also in his job's name - Shadow Monarch. It is implying some mysteries we have yet to discover... Can be fun if you manage to spot it. It's an easy word too! ~ kage Meaning: shadow How to read: 'ka' as in "cat" + 'ge' as in "get" Fun fact: In Japanese words can have different meanings, depending on different readings of one word (one kanji character, many ways of reading it) or different ways to write the same word (same/similar meaning but different kanji character). And so for the word "shadow", depending on the writing of the Chinese character (kanji), it can have different meanings. It can mean a shadow of somebody as in silhouette, phantom etc. (影) or somebody's shadow as something negative, dark energy, secret, shade, yin energy etc. (蔭). It has a few more other writings but these two are the most used ones.

They finished AOT, caught up with demon slayer, caught up with solo leveling, and soon they’re gonna be caught up with frieren and Vinland saga. They are about to watch two of the most beautiful anime’s at one time. What an experience!

2025-04-23 18:34:20 +0000 UTCNow I can tell you...my favourite shadow is Beru! And it gets better in the manhwa! I just love Beru ❤️ The manhwa is finished and I read it all. There is a sequel which I just started reading, but I will reserve my judgement on that for when I'm finished with it. In the manhwa, Jinwoo revives the queen ant before Beru, but he has to release her because the shadow ants (they cut the scene where he gets them all to arise too) are acting confused and they are freaking out as they don't know who to follow between Jinwoo and the queen. Plus the queen has no added value as her only reason to be is to give birth to new ants, and that's impossible as a shadow. So then he gets Beru. Another one of my favourite scenes is when Jinwoo releases the S-rank healer (I cried so much)! Damn, I'm so upset this has finished already! 😭😭😭

2025-04-23 17:24:47 +0000 UTCAlso I think it was storitella who pointed it out last episode (correct me if I am wrong), but there is animosity between the South Korea and Japanese hunters due to an ongoing feud between the two countries themselves. The Solo Leveling manhwa itself is from South Korea, not Japan. One of the things in the manhwa was the Japanese hunters’ second goal of this mission was the elimination of the South Korean hunters, painting the Japanese as villains. However, since the South Korean manhwa was adapted by a Japanese studio, they don’t explicitly state this and instead make it much more vague. That’s why the leader of the Japanese hunters was so angry that 7/10 of their S ranks are now dead and the South Korean team was fine. He and Goto were hoping the South Korean hunters would die in the mission, and Japan would clear the dungeon marking a victory for their country. However the opposite happened and Goto was killed, which is why the Japanese leader is in such a fury (Jason I died laughing at your Jonah Jameson comment 🤣)

2025-04-23 17:21:12 +0000 UTCOne of the hyped moments from these episodes that I was bummed was cut from the manhwa was when Jinwoo shows up and starts fighting, hunter Baek says “Coach Ma… it looks like we’re in good hands. Everything is going to be okay now” because it demonstrates the belief in Jinwoo and how he’s on a completely different level One of the FUNNY moments cut was when Jinwoo summoned Tusk and told him “only aim at the ants, if you hurt any of the humans I’m never gonna summon you ever again!” And they gave Tusk a pouty face, it was really cute/funny They cut out some other stuff, like Jinwoo “arising” the ants in front of the other hunters, Jinwoo breaking his family’s tv before he left LOL, and the many online worldwide reactions of Jinwoo’s actions at Jeju (some said he should be called a National Level Hunter), etc. They also changed the fight, Jinwoo’s first punch knocked the ant into the other wall; the anime changed it so the ant didn’t get knocked back til later. A great ep overall, but I definitely still prefer the manhwa
